The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that an unknown part related to the steering wheel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 261,000.

2 Warning Light On problem

Tl- the contact owns a 2003 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the air bag warning light had illuminated and remained illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number : 5v254000(air bag), 15v286000(air bag) however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 150,000. Kh.

3 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2006

Air bag warning light came on in less than 36 months after warranty expired due to mileage. Cost to repair exceeded $1,200. Shouldn't these government mandated safety features be covered by a longer warranty?.
