1 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 06/09/2014

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tundra. While driving approximately 45 mph, the contact heard a loud noise outside of the vehicle. The contact pulled to the side of the road and discovered that both of the fuel tank skid guard brackets were partially detached. The contact temporarily secured the brackets with a rope and continued to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

2 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the vehicle was exhibiting an unusually overpowering gasoline odor and there was gasoline leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told that the o-ring was defective and allowing the fuel tank to leak. The contact was also told that the failure was common for his year, make and model vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 45,000 and the current mileage was 51,000.
