Tl the contact owns a 2009 Toyota Tundra. While driving 65 mph and towing a camper, the rack and pinion failed and the power steering ability was lost. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle off to the side of the road. The contact stated that the vehicle also overheated and the power steering pump melted. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home. The contact informed the manufacturer and helena Toyota (3365 us-12, helena, mt 59601, (406) 442-6310) of the failure and was informed that there were no recalls. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 81,544.
