1 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2019

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, there was an abnormal noise( whining) coming from the steering wheel. After a few moments the vehicle steering seized without warning. The contact managed to steer the vehicle and drive to a independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the steering pump,belt failed and needed to be replaced. The pump and belt were replaced however, the rackin pinion needed to be repaired by a dealer. The vehicle at that time was towed by progressive to the dealer ( peoria Toyota 7401 n allen rd, peoria, IL 61614 (309)-354-3894) where a second diagnoses test was performed and confirmed that the rackin pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle at this time is begin reapired at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that no warranties was available and that the TSB had expired a case#1910213072 was provided but no further assistance was taken. The contact mentioned TSB NHTSA id#10134363 as a possible solution to the failure the failure mileage was approximately 83,964. Ck.
