1 Blind Spot Detection problem

Failure Date: 02/02/2024

The cover on the passenger side mirror has a cover with a camera attached that keeps flying off on highways. Last time it came detached from the vehicle and tripped my collision control sending my vehicle into an emergency stop for no reason. I had no warning that this was going to come off nor should I expect body panels to fly off my vehicle. I have expressed this to Toyota and showed evidence of this being a well documented issue with other customers and they are still denying responsibility for this. My vehicle has never been in an accident and this part has never been tampered with. The dealer even feels this is a quality issue with Toyota and tried to help and was unsuccessful.

2 Blind Spot Detection problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2023

My vehicle was parked next to a fire hydrant and when I returned to the vehicle none of the warning cameras or alerts was able to pick up the object. There seems to be a glitch when the vehicle is turned completely off and then restarted with a small object in the blind spot.
