I am reporting multiple safety-related defects on my 2025 Toyota Tundra (approx. 18. 5k miles, purchased 07/25). Toyota has been made aware and has not resolved these issues. The most serious defect is deterioration of the driver-side air intake housing. While replacing the air filters, I observed the airbox shedding internal material directly onto the engine air filter. This is not external debris and there are no signs of rodent intrusion, indicating internal component breakdown. This vehicle shares the v35a engine platform, which is subject to recall for debris contamination leading to main bearing failure, engine stall, and loss of drive power. The presence of internally generated debris upstream of the engine creates a credible risk of engine damage or sudden failure while driving. Toyota’s recall documentation confirms debris contamination can cause engine stall and loss of drive power. The windshield cracked during extreme cold weather. The crack originated near the lower edge at the wiper/cowl interface and propagated upward in a pattern consistent with stress or thermal failure, not impact, affecting visibility and structural integrity. Additionally, the lower front bumper trim cracked without meaningful impact, and the rear bumper failed under minimal load in cold conditions. These failures indicate material brittleness and raise concern for reduced crash protection and increased risk of injury in a collision. Other issues include driver-side seat trim cracking and premature paint and trim degradation. Similar failures, including windshield cracking, trim failure, and cold-weather brittleness, are widely reported by other 2022+ Tundra owners, indicating a potential systemic defect. Given the known engine recall and active internal material degradation in the intake system, there is a credible safety risk of engine stall, sudden loss of power at speed, reduced visibility, and increased injury risk due to compromised bumper integrity.

While offloading my truck after getting back from vacation and with all the windows rolled down I noticed smoke coming out of the cab of my truck. Not know what it was or why smoke was coning from the inside of my truck I went to investigate and notice the top of the rear seat was melting and smoking. Absolutely no reason why that material should have started to melt and smoke. Outside temperature at the time was 64 degrees fahrenheit. Only thing that I could think of was the light / reflection of the sun from our upstairs bedroom window. It is just a standard glass window so don't see how that would cause the material to melt, smoke and it absolutely looked like it was about to light up. I have an actual video of it smoking but website will not let me upload it.
Driver-side seat plastic side cover (seat shield) cracked/broke under normal use. Concern about durability and potential safety hazard if seat components fail,I was bring into local Toyota dealer ask for replacement but answer is vehicle is out of warranty (3year /36000mile)I need to pay for it ,which my vehicle is just past warranty about 5month and the mileage is only 25956,I do find out a lot Toyota owners have the same issue.

Heated seat element and module burnt.
Both passenger seats by controls plastic cracking. Infotainment center blacks out and marker bars and back up lines for both back up and front parking have disappeared. Gps even when linked to my phone screen will black out but phone gps will still work. I have complained about this multiple times. Toyota did a factory reset on it and didn’t fix the issue took it back and a tech had to re-install program said the infotainment center has a known issue where it forgets the program. I also informed Toyota about the engine seems to be really sluggish when at a complete stop and then start again taking a few seconds to go along with shifting hard from stop and go. Toyota did say they saw what I saw and this usually happens when people double foot pedals. I told them I don’t do that. I am frustrated and don’t know what to do I have a 72k truck that just turned 17k miles on it with a lot of issues what will I have to deal with down the road once the warranty is up? I love Toyota but this time seems like I got a lemon from Toyota with all the issues and continued rising issues.

Laggy throttle response, always a significant delay. This is dangerous, especially during heavy traffic situations. Drivers seat constantly pops and cracks under acceleration or braking.
Front seat cushion shield loose/broken.
Since around 35,000 miles, the 10-way power adjustable driver's seat makes a terrible squeaky sound when going over any bumps in the road. If the driver were to move while in the seat, the squeak is present. We have already paid out of pocket (not considered a warranty issue because nothing is "broken"), but the squeak has returned. This is no fault of the dealership, but because of the design that Toyota implemented for just the 10-way power adjustable driver's seat. If we reduce the lumbar support down to its lowest setting, the squeak gets better but it makes the seat that much more uncomfortable. These are the worst seats we've ever had in any vehicle, let alone a Toyota/Lexus product. I do believe the seat structure to have cracked at this point in time. Vehicle is currently in for service.
The seat protective plastic cover is broke with less than 30k miles and light use. It is a known issue but Toyota informed me when I took it in that they are on universal unavailability. They can’t tell me when the part will be back in stock and there are non in the USA. The airbag is also near this and there is concern that it could damage the airbag. Additionally the damaged plastic cuts the seat and is sharp.

- a dealership in dfw replaced the drive seat frame in truck due to metal creaking while driving. After the replacement everything was fine until my friend hit her toe against driver side seat frame covered by felt tape. From the factory the truck comes with plastic frame guards to prevent injury to rear passengers but Toyota has failed to fix the issue several times. I recently found out that all Tundra's with powered seats have this safety issue as I was talking to dealer employee who recently purchased a 2024 Tundra then we walked the lot and every single higher trim Tundra with powered seats all have this felt tape over the metal substructure. The felt tape provides no shock absorbing properties resulting in bruising when a rear passenger tries to exit the truck wearing open toe shoes.
Drivers seat has lateral movement in it associated when vehicle is engaged in a slow speed descending right turn. Dealer claims nothing is wrong.

My 2022 Tundra seat panel start to fall apart. Front bumper coming out. Door rattle. Windshield distortion makes my visibility can’t see good. Windshield molding coming loose. The tires keep loosing air pressure and Toyota refuse to add more air pressure . Radio keep getting disconnected from my bluetooth . I have all video and evidence showing all this defected happen but Toyota will not fix under warranty. Toyota stated they will not fix the problem due to truck still working order running fine.
Driver's seat appears to have some play in it where when accelerating or coming to a stop, the seat bottom will move forward and/or backwards. This has continued to happen and after repeated attempts to have the dealer resolve it, they have basically told me it was designed that way. We've never had another Toyota product do this. We do understand there are certain specifications needed to meet safety requirements, but we've sat and driven in other models of the same specifications and their seats do not do this.
I've taken my truck in 3 times for a problem with the driver seat having excessive play. Whenever I stop at a light or pull off the seat rocks back and forth. Each time I've taken it in to the dealership they tell me that it is a seat track issue and that if I raise my seat the play will lessen? I've tried that and it still didn't correct the issue. This problem has gotten progressively worse and I'm worried that the seat is going to collapse completely one day when I stop or pull off. I've driven different Tundras of friends and relatives and those trucks don't have this problem. I feel like this is a major safety issue and Toyota should correct this issue or replace the seat track. The first time took it in for this issue was on 7-12-2021 and the last time I took it in for this issue was 23-Jan-2024 .
Temperature seat switches are not working, fire hazard does to malfunctioning.

I was on a camping trip in wyoming, and I started my Tundra up on a chilly morning. It was running for about 5 minutes before I came back to it and entered the cab. Immediately upon entering I noticed a strange smell. I also noticed at that time that the driver’s seat was extremely warm. I quickly shut off the heat warmer (original equipment on the truck). Inspecting the seat, I could see where the leather was just starting to melt. Luckily, I caught this in time, for if I would have left it longer, the vehicle could have caught fire. An online search discovered previous problems with Toyota seat warmers. My contact with Toyota was not helpful, for they simply told me that it was out of warranty, despite being a safety issue.

Plastic cover on the side of driverside controling all seat feature snapped off.
The driver side front seat side shield panel cracked two months after vehicle was purchased new. It was replaced under warranty at the Toyota dealership. It cracked again three months later and was replaced again by the Toyota dealership. About 3-4 months later, it cracked again and was replaced by the Toyota dealership. This was on 04-21-23. On June 29, 2023, it cracked again for the fourth time. Dealership so far has not agreed to replace it under warranty and we are pursuing warranty claim with Toyota headquarters. I have owned 5 Toyota trucks and never have had this problem. When the front seat side shield panel cracks, it is a plastic part inside that is breaking. It is probably occurring when entering and exiting the vehicle possibly sliding across the side edge of the seat. There are several of the same problems with the seat posted on the internet for this truck. This is a design flaw and needs to be corrected by Toyota. It creates a safety hazard as you cannot operate the seat properly when it is broken.
The seat heater control module has failed causing the plastic to burn and melt, nearly starting a fire. Toyota knows about this but refuses to issue a safety recall.
The driver’s seat heat connection appeared to have an electrical failure and appears burned.

The headrests on the seats slip out of place very easily. It is available for inspection on request. In case of accident, the headrests may fly off the seat very easily, with failure to prevent whiplash injury. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone but me, the owner. There are no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem. The problem was there when I bought the vehicle in 2022.

I actually have too very serious issues with my new Tundra. 1) my seat is coming loose from floor of my truck every time I take a corner it feels like it's going to tip over and makes a loud clunk and it feels like the back of the seat is separating from the part where my rear end sits (aka my butt) 2) when it rains the water flows off of the hood and then I am assuming the fan that goes to radiator spits a blast of water right in my driver's side of windshield, this because the poor design of the grill on certain 22 Tundra limited models. Very dangerous if you ask me or anybody else that has this problem which is quite a few people from what I have seen on 2022 Tundra forums. Those are just 2 major issues of the many I have.
The seats shifts back and forth when brakes applied or hit the accelerator pedal. I’ve taken to two different dealers n made complaints but not results or repairs have been made.
The seat has been loose since I first purchased the truck, first time at the dealer they said it was the cushion which it wasn’t and they ordered part and it didn’t fix the situation. The next oil change I took it in and they said it was the frame, bottom of seat, and they ordered one and it’s been on back order a year now or thereabouts. Now I’ve owned the truck for over a year and a half and still no resolution. If an accident occurs will the seat completely break and fling me out of the vehicle? anyhow multiple phone calls to dealership and now a phone call to Toyota themselves has yielded no resolution.
There is a bracket under the drivers seat, left side of seat, that is cracked all the way through just above the weld where it attachs to the horizontal tube that rotates when the power lever is pushed forward or backward. This bracket is associated with the "seat back" tilting forward or backward. This bracket being broken, allows the drivers seatback to be unstable and can be tilted forward in the event of an accident.

Both headlamps have been melted by the turn signal/daytime running lamp. Ive had to replace the lamps with led bulbs but the lamp is still burned/melted. Also the drivers side seat has developed space that is unsecure . It wiggles back and forth unsure if this is stress or wear.

Bought this truck used with 8,000 miles on it. It came with a platinum extended warranty transferred from the previous owner. At 18,000 miles the seat was moving, popping and felt like springs were poking me. Sure enough, the seat frame had "worn out". Was replaced by dealer with factory warranty. 42,000 miles the seat issue is back, but different this time. The seat actually moves side to side and "clunks" when stopping and going or turning. Dealer says that this may not be covered under the platinum warranty. I will update this after I take it to the dealer this week. If I had wanted a hunk of junk, I would have bought a Dodge! my 2000 Tundra was bullet proof. This one. . Not so much. We'll find out how well Toyota wants to take care of their customers.

The driver's seat (powered) suddenly, randomly and unexpectedly shifts positions by a very noticeable amount. The movement is accompanied by a loud clunk/thunk noise that is very unnerving to both driver and passenger. In fact, we are starting to wonder if the seat may just completely disconnect from the body while we are driving. If you were able to experience the sensation of unexpected movement and noise, I suspect the same thought would cross your mind as well. My research shows that this is a known problem on some Tundra models and on many other Toyota models. See Tundratalk. Net, Toyotanation. Com, and Tundraheadquarters. Com. The problem only occurs after the truck has been driven 15 - 30 minutes. The longer the truck is driven, the more frequently the issue manifests. The slightest change in acceleration or shift in direction seems to cause this problem.
