36 Seats problem of the 2004 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 03/15/2015

Was driving with 2 family members in truck. Had back window down which was a good thing, when sunroof exploded it inbedded glass in the topper that was on the truck. Glass was all over us ,luckily we were not cut and I dont know how we wasn't I stopped immediately and got away from the truck because I thought we had been shot at with a shotgun. I called Toyota to report it and they said they had no other calls like this. My insurance company paid the whole bill which was a lot. I do not open the sunroof at all now because I have a fear of it happening again. I keep the cover slid over it.

38 Seats problem of the 2014 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 01/03/2014

This is probably not a safety issue as of yet but could turn into one. I bought a new Tundra 2014 in Jan. 2014 from community Toyota in baytown, texas. The very first time I get in the truck to come home the front drivers seat wouldn't move forward for me. The salesman got the service people to look at it and he fooled with it till it started to move. After bringing the truck home I had trouble getting the seat to move again. My husband took the truck back to the dealership. The service man said that it looked normal to him. The service manager came out and said that they had me a new seat ordered and would notify us when it came in. That was in Feb. 2014. In may they said it would be here around the 27th. On June 20th I called and they said it was there. We took it down to the dealer at 9 am and they said it would take about 5 hours. When we came back my husband went out to test the seat and it still didn't move freely. The service manager said that this normal for this truck. I called the customer relations man the next morning. He said that this is a safety feature on these trucks to keep the driver from being thrown into the steering wheel. I thought that that was what seat belts were for? he said that he would go down to the dealership and check out some of the trucks there but I haven't heard anything from him and that was on June 24th. He also said that the seat handle bar on the Tundra had to be grabbed right in the middle of the bar. That this is the only way to get it to move. My husband is not disabled so he can grab it in the middle and it still will not work. Because of my disability I can't reach between my legs to grab the bar there. I walk with a cane and am having a hip replacement soon. He said that he would check out our truck personally the next time we where in town. We live 2 hours away. I would like to know if anyone else is having this trouble.

39 Seats problem of the 2013 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 05/30/2013

Seat rail loose on drivers side seat. Seat is bolted firmly to floor but the rail that it slides on is loose. Problem started at 30,000 miles and truck has 40,000. Toyota want 1100. 00 to fix the seat because its out of warranty. Toyota offered to pay for the rail at 700. 00 and I pay 300. 00 for install. As I research this model of Tundra on the internet, this issue is common. This truck is unsafe with a loose seat rail and I feel that it should not have to be replaced every 30k miles. It should be recalled!!!.

41 Seats problem of the 2012 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 12/11/2012

Driver's seat frame (base) began intermittently popping which progressed to a consistent popping felt every time the vehicle cornered at speed or weight shifted in the driver's seat. The problem was confirmed by dealership and an adjustment made to the seat rail alignment pin. For several months, the problem appeared to be fixed. However, the problem ultimately returned with a similar popping noise. I allowed it to progress until the dealership could reproduce the popping noise in the driver's seat frame (base). The problem was identified the second time as a cracked weld in the frame near the point where the seat back and base are connected. The dealership ordered and replaced the entire seat frame with a new one. The mileage at the time of repair was 23500 miles. I am documenting the issue because I have noticed several others complaining on truck forums of popping in the seat frame. Also, I noticed the recent Toyota recall for a similar issue in other model cars.

46 Seats problem of the 2007 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 09/20/2007

I own a 2007 Toyota Tundra crewmax with black cloth interior, and its very hard to keep lint and hair out of the cloth. I'm an auto detailer and I have to constantly vacuum it to try and keep it clean. I wanted leather but to get that option is roughly another $6,000 more which is alot when the window sticker of my truck was already over $37,000. So im not to sure of how this works but this is a very well maintained truck very low miles and you cant do anything to keep lint or hair out. A friend of mine who also works with me owns an 2008 GMC sierra with black cloth and has the same problem, but in his case they changed the fabric for 2009 and he made a complaint with the lint problem and he's getting the changed fabric. So im hoping maybe there is something that can be done to correct this problem for the 2007-up Tundra trucks.
