The transmission solenoid d shows high voltage which sets my check engine light off. At first no difference would be noticed and it would randomly turn off and then back on randomly. After doing this on and off for the last few months, the transmission has randomly been getting stuck in 4th gear but will lower when slowing down. According to those who have had the same issue have found it to be fixed by replacing the s4 solenoid which seems to be producing way more voltage than it’s supposed to.

On Tuesday 10/21 at approximately 4:30pm I was on the grand central parkway traveling about 50mph. When trying to accelerate the truck lost all throttle power and I quickly lost speed down to 40mph before throttle response came back. There was a noticeable change in gear upon throttle resuming.

On Saturday 10/18 I was traveling about 60mph on the long island expressway at approximately 12:30pm when I went to accelerate to pass a vehicle. Immediately upon pressing the accelerator the truck lost all throttle power and I quickly lost speed down to 45mph before throttle response came back. The truck harshly went into gear once throttle power resumed.
Stopped at a stop sign at an intersection. Intersection is 4-way, with only a 2-way stop. After ensuring cross-traffic was clear, initiated a left turn from being stopped at the stop sign. Released the brake pedal and began to accelerate. Truck only accelerated to 5mph, and then began to roll/drift into the intersection with no power. No response from gas pedal. Drifted into intersection and was nearly struck by an oncoming vehicle. Accelerator finally responded, lagged once more when attempting to accelerate quickly to get out of the intersection, and then began responding appropriately. I could have been t-boned by another motorist while drifting without acceleration ability through an intersection. My foot was firmly on the gas pedal, with no response. This was only one of two occurrences of this, the truck has not been serviced by the dealer for this issue. No warning lights were displayed at the time, nor did any illuminate.

The vehicle hesitates when starting from a stop. It feels like the engine dies. This was a previous “recall”. Vehicle was “fixed” but still happening. I’ve informed Toyota of issue. No resolution. I’ve almost been hit twice at an intersection because of this.

The vehicle does not predictably respond to throttle inputs (if it responds at all), when you come off the brake pedal it will begin rolling at "idle" speed as normal but when you begin to increase throttle input nothing will happen for several very important seconds as you roll into an intersection or need the vehicle to accelerate to maneuver. This had happened multiple times before scheduling service appointments. The day before my appointment while trying to make a right hand turn from eb 13st st in lemont IL to sb bell rd, I had stopped for the red light, verified clearance to make the turn, and began my maneuver. Once I came off the brake pedal the vehicle began to roll into the intersection but as I began to turn the vehicle and try to accelerate though the turn it did not respond whatsoever. I desperately tried to roll my vehicle into the ditch to make space the incoming vehicles to minimize danger, but had no power to do so and was violently t-boned. The vehicle was brought to the dealer for their analysis, the service manager initially claimed "I know exactly what it is" and continued to ask questions that prompted previous knowledge of this issue including what speeds and conditions it will occur at. . Two weeks later the vehicle is "ready" and the manager claims the "eprom" had 2 pages of codes in it and that "got rid of the hesitation" I take him for a test drive with me and was able to recreate the issue a few times at which point he said "I understand your frustration with the truck but its a good truck" I drove the truck a few days and continued to experience dangerous and unpredictable delays in throttle response, one of which almost caused me to be rear-ended by a semi while merging from IL-rt83 onto I-55 nb the vehicle has been left behind on a family road trip as it is not safe enough for my family. In hind sight I wish I had the opportunity to submit it to NHTSA for examination after the crash rather than than Toyota. Please do something.
Huge delay in the throttle response. You press on the throttle and there is sometimes a hesitation and the vehicle will not move or is jerky.

There is an interment issue where the vehicle fails to accelerate from a stop when accelerator is applied. This issue is present in my current vehicle and my previous 2023 Tundra. I have brought up concerns to the dealer and manufacturer and am told every time that the concern cannot be duplicated, but I feel that it is going to lead to a crash not only for me but other owners.
Making a right turn from a stop. I pressed the accelerator and the vehicle barely moved. Cars were coming in my direction and I had to move. I let off the accelerator quickly pressed the accelerator again. The vehicle did start moving at normal rate. This first attempt was very concerning and almost caused me to get in an accident.
Throttle lag/lurching: when pressing the gas pedal at a full stop or pulling into traffic on the expressway the truck hesitates. It doesn't immediately go. This happens often. . . Transmission should be recalled. It's very dangerous especially when pulling into traffic on the expressway.
Upon starting the vehicle on 8/6/2025 I received multiple warnings: advanced ultrasonic detecting and ranging system malfunction, pre-collision system malfunction, parking brake system malfunction, check engine ecm malfunction, vehicle stability control system malfunction secondary collison brake system malfunction, it now take almost a mile on level ground to reach 45 mph. This occurred without warning. The vehicle was ok the day before when I parked it.
Throttle lag truck stalls out when you try to go from a stop. It will cause an accident if this is not fixed. Also engines keep blowing up with out the hybrid system your truck will not have any port to get over to a safe spot on the road. Toyota is replacing engines but the ones they are putting in the trucks are the same ones that are failing.
When at a complete stop, going to pull out, or continue driving, there is a noticable lag to the acceleration. It sometimes does nothing for a few seconds before acceleration. If backing up, then switching to drive,. There is a delay and or a small jerk motion before the vehicle accelerates. This has caused issues when pulling out and vehicles are coming at normal speeds with plenty of time to pull out. The delay has almost caused several accidents.
When from a stop vehicle does not accelerate as normal, especially while turning. Lag and hesitation is experienced for a moment and then catches causing a rapid acceleration. When turning across oncoming lanes of traffic the unexpected lag and lack of acceleration considerably increases risk of side collision from cross traffic and risk of rear collision from traffic behind due to inability to know consistent time, speed, and acceleration needed to safely cross lanes of traffic and expected acceleration speed anticipated by vehicles from rear. Concern has been brought up to dealer and properly notified. Dealer was unable to replicate. No dash warnings appeared.
The vehicle inconsistently delays when accelerating from a stopped position. This is more frequently noticed shortly after starting the vehicle. This was first noticed around 10k miles, and my vehicle is currently at 25,235 miles. This has happened approximately 4-5 times. While at a stop sign, judging traffic to enter into the intersection I have pushed the gas with no response for 2-3 seconds then a sudden burst of power. Having worked as a state leo/trooper for over 25 years I find this very concerning. Any delay in acceleration for power could result in a collision.
Speedometer and associated systems and controls are inaccurate by margin of 18% (9mph @ 55 mph) speedometer reports speed of 55 mph when truck is traveling at gps tracked speed of 64 mph. Without an accurate speed reading, it's easy to accidentally speed, especially in areas where the speed limit frequently changes. Speeding increases your stopping distance and reduces the time you have to react to unexpected events, significantly raising the risk of an accident inaccurate distance tracking your speedometer is often linked to your odometer, which tracks the distance your vehicle has traveled. A faulty speedometer can lead to inaccurate mileage readings, which might affect your vehicle's maintenance schedule. If your odometer isn't tracking miles correctly, you might miss crucial maintenance milestones like oil changes, tire rotations, or other essential services. Fuel efficiency issues a malfunctioning speedometer can also impact your ability to monitor and maintain fuel efficiency. Without accurate speed data, you may find it difficult to optimize your driving habits for better fuel economy. This can lead to increased fuel consumption and higher operating costs over time. Legal and insurance complications in the event of an accident, a faulty speedometer can create legal and insurance challenges. If you can't accurately prove your speed at the time of an incident, it could complicate the process of determining fault. This is particularly problematic in accidents where speed is a critical factor. This problem was reported to anderson Toyota dealership and Toyota corporate customer care.
Vehicle experiences electronic throttle lag that causes the vehicle to not accelerate when pressing on the accelerator pedal. Then it accelerates excessively and nearly uncontrollably before coming under control.
The vehicle has acceleration hesitation. Sometimes when trying to go from a complete stop the vehicle is almost dead and doesn’t move then it feels as if the “clutch was popped “ in a manual but it is an automatic.
The truck has a very pronounced hesitation to accelerate after slowing down or coming to a stop. Example: slow down, come to a stop at a stop sign and then accelerating to start moving. This situation happens daily and almost on every occasion after slowing or stopping. It has gotten worse over time and this issue has put me and my family in very dangerous and scary situations as the truck does not accelerate promptly and oncoming traffic is getting closer. It really has made me concerned to drive my truck and feel unsafe doing so, especially with my family.
Every so often there is a hesitation when I’m trying to accelerate.
The vehicle has a hesitation when accelerating or when I turn a corner and then try to accelerate it lags. Had a few incidents where I almost got rear ended due to the issue.
Lack of throttle response. Takes 5 seconds for the throttle to respond to legal input making it dangerous when accelerating.
The major throttle lag. When leaving from a stop it takes a few seconds of pressing the gas before the truck even begins to accelerate. I have had multiple issues with throttle lag when dealing with oncoming traffic. No lights have indicated any issues and all the dealerships can tell me is it’s a common issue.
Unknown what component failed. Safety was at risk because the delay in the throttle response can result in get in an accident. I can't reproduce the problem. It happens at random. The vehicle has never been inspected by anyone about this issue. No warning whatsoever. It doesn't happen ofen. Some times it's worse than others.
Vehicle was accelerating down hill when engine stopped light came on stop in a safe place. I could not accelerate the gas or control the steering vehicle glided halfway to the side of the road before stopping. Engine stopped completely when exiting the vehicle smoke was coming out of the front hood. I could not shift the vehicles gears the system was completely locked up. Steering power low light came on. Engine stopped light came on. Tried to contact roadside assistance no one came for over 3 hours. Neighbors called a police officer and they had to tow it due to it being in an unsafe location (blocking traffic on a two lane road) without street lights. Vehicle was towed to marietta Toyota dealership.
A low speeds there is a delay in throttle response. If you come to a stop then step on the accelerator, the vehicle has no response for a short period of time where then it may buck or propel itself to catch up with the missed throttle. I recently picked this vehicle up from the dealer and was told there is no remedy for the issue at this time.
2025 Toyota Tundra with 2200 miles. Truck has developed an intermittent lag/hesitation when starting from a stop. At random times, when pulling out into fast moving traffic, hit the pedal to proceed and enter the roadway and it will take a second or two before there is any response from the engine. Oncoming traffic traveling at 50mph are now a second or two closer and need to brake hard to avoid collision. There seems to be a fault between the throttle pedal and the engine. No warning lamps. Difficult to reproduce as it only happens on occasion. Vehicle has not been inspected by a dealership. The issue has been reported to Toyota via online support, message # [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Lags when accelerating from a full stop. At least 1-2 seconds. Extremely dangerous. I’ve got 600 miles on a brand new truck and it’s happened twice in the last 24 hours. I was nearly t-boned.
Truck will have a very bad hesitation when coming to a stop and trying to accelerate again before a complete stop. Many times this has almost got me into an accident when trying to pull out into traffic. You will push the gas and there in a 2-3 second delay before the truck will even move. This often makes it a very close call if you’re not expecting it.
There is significant throttle lag where the throttle has a delay in engagement after a rolling stop. Turning into traffic flat out is dangerous when the throttle has a delay, if you push harder then it gives you too much throttle after the delay and will chirp the tires. I am not the only one. 100s if not thousands of people are complaining about this same issue.
Truck will hesitate to respond to throttle pedal input when attempting to accelerate from a stop. This has occurred numerous times over the 3 years I’ve owned it and appears to happen randomly. This 1-2 second delay puts driver safety and other drivers at risk due to inability to quickly enter or cross lanes of traffic.
Stopped at a stop sign, slightly uphill, turning from a residential street onto a busier road. When I pressed the accelerator, the pickup moved a bit and then hesitated. After pressing the accelerator further, the pickup accelerated suddenly and quickly. This has happened intermittently, multiple times. This is not the case of the auto start-stop system not starting quickly enough. The first risk is not being able to smoothly accelerate into traffic and getting hit from behind because of the hesitation. When the vehicle does accelerate, it jerks forward suddenly and quickly, often losing grip from the rear tires. This causes a risk of losing control or veering into the oncoming lane. The problem has been reported and the mechanics worked with the field engineers to diagnose the issue. The field engineers reported that this is a known problem there were no warning lights or other indicators that any component is malfunctioning. The problem first appeared with under 2,000 miles on the odometer and has repeated intermittently. I have not yet been able to determine a series of events that trigger the issue. It did happen a few times when stopped slightly uphill, but that isn't the only time. It is not clear whether it is the accelerator, throttle, engine, transmission, computer, or data transmission causing the problem.
The vehicle's accelerator consistently fails to respond when entering traffic from a stop or a rolling stop. Toyota attempted to remedy the problem with a TSB, but the problem returned within a week.
Occasionally when accelerator is pressed at a stop sign or light there is hesitation before the engine rpms increase. Also happens frequently going up my steep driveway at under 5mph, at half to 3/4 up my 100 yard driveway it will just almost stall out to an idle for a few seconds then will continue on as nothing happened.
Occasionally (more frequently when cold) the vehicle does not accelerate from a stop or rolling stop. You depress the accelerator pedal and nothing happens, the vehicle does not accelerate. After a few seconds the vehicle will sometimes catch and rapidly accelerate and other times you have to release the pedal and depress the pedal again.
