My vehicle was not listed under the recall for airbags yet yesterday I was involved in a fairly serious t-bone collision that affected the entire front end of my Venza and no airbags went off. It was a city street intersection and both vehicles were moving about 30 miles per hour. Neither the drivers or passenger side doors would open from the impact so why no airbars?.

39 Air Bag problem of the 2009 Toyota Venza

Failure Date: 08/19/2014

Our vehicle was struck at high speed by a person who ran a stop sign on a residential street. There was significant damage to almost every corner and side of the car. The car has been totaled. The driver was injured with pain and contusion in the neck, head, side, and elbows. No airbags were deployed. We have now learned that there was a recent recall for this specific matter. We never received any notice, in fact- we have since been to the dealer and no mention of the recall. The driver could have easily died in this accident.

40 Air Bag problem of the 2011 Toyota Venza

Failure Date: 02/01/2014

There has been a recall on model year 2012 and 2013 Toyota Venza. Nhtsa campaign id number: 13v442000. I believe 2011 should be in this recall as well. Our vehicle is not draining condensation properly. There is a bad odor coming out of your air conditioner and I believe the smell is from the buildup of moisture in and around the air conditioner. As this is also mentioned in NHTSA recall number above.

41 Air Bag problem of the 2012 Toyota Venza

Failure Date: 12/23/2013

No incident, just a safety question. I purchased this 2012 Venza a few days ago and was surprised to find that the frontal passenger crash test was 2 stars (out of 5). For 2013 it was 4 stars for the same test. I am trying to determine whether this car (VIN number) was made before or after Toyota made safety modifications that led to the 4 star frontal passenger rating. Toyota customer service was not helpful and suggested contacting NHTSA. This is an important issue for me as I carry my grandchildren in this car and if there is a safety concern it will have to be returned. Thanks for your help. Ps - I sent this note yesterday but included the wrong VIN. The VIN entered above is now correct.
