Airbags did not deploy in passenger-side car accident. Neither passenger airbags nor driver airbags.
My brakes have failed me many times. I had to eventually get those change in the brakes still aren’t working completely correct.
My fiancee bought her 2008 Toyota Yaris on about the 26 Apr 2021. Right off she had brake failure pretty quickly after buying the car. Brake pads were suspected of failing. When the front tires were removed the calipers had built up thick rust on inside surface where the pads sit on both front calipers. The pads were pushed into the rotors heavily causing the driver side rotor to be damaged beyond acceptable limits. The right side rotor was turned successfully with enough rotor minimum thickness remaining. So the rust caused me to replace 1 rotor, both calipers and pads on front and rear brakes. The rust built up on the calipers threaded input and output brake fluid lines threaded attach points. This could have cause a fluid leak that could of been very dangerous leading to injury or death of occupants. I have not reported this to the Toyota dealership or anyone else. I didn't know I could report dangerous items that could be set for a safety recall by the NHTSA. As for the airbags, the driver airbag light stays on and passenger light comes on when 10 pounds of weight is sat in passenger seat. The belt is not latched. My driver seat belt is always latched when I drive. I weigh 130 but the light remains on. So, will the driver air bag inflator explode or fail due to the warning light illuminatimg. I was unaware of a recall for this and 3 others have not been repaired yet by previous owners. The third item is backseat seatbelt female receptical will not latch to the male end on 2 of the 3 seating positions. This is a real safety issue when we place children in the backseat. We can only take 1 child at each drive, so even adults riding in the backseat will be not buckled up, which is un-law and very dangerous causing severe injuries and even death in an accidental collision. I will take my fiancee's 2008 Yaris to a Toyota dealership for the 4 recalls noted today by VIN,7/29/2021. Thanks, richard peavler.
I was going 15-20 mph on on ramp to the freeway and accidentally veered right hitting the guard rail on the right front side of the car. None of the airbags deployed and my seatbelt did not lock, resulting in my face hitting the steering wheel, breaking my nose and cutting my lip.
I have made several attempts to get my car's airbag recall done at my local Toyota dealership. This is probably the 4-6th time I took it and was extremely patient with them getting it to be repaired. I continue to get these letters in the mail that my car still has a safety recall on the airbags. This dealer is the closest to me and going anywhere else would be cause an inconvenience since its about an hour away. I even took off work to get this done but it was never done. The dealer is Toyota of york over at whiteford rd. I continue to drive unsafe unknowingly because of them not fixing my car like they should have the first time I took it in. Recall qnc7-iua.

Yesterday, February 27, I received a recall notice from Toyota for takata air bags. this is an important safety recall appears in red ink on the notice. My car is a Toyota Yaris sedan, 2008, VIN jtdbt923381283284. I immediately called the local Toyota store, kendall Toyota, to make an appointment for the repair. I was told that Toyota doesn't yet have a fix for the problem and that I should await further word. Toyota's response shows egregious disregard for my safety. Also, if Toyota has known of the problem since my car was manufactured nine years ago, then the unavailability of a fix in 2017 signals almost unbelievable incompetence in the organization. John w. Bowers 408 NW 12th st bend, or 97703-3046.
Takata recall issued 01/09/2017. No notification received from Toyota as of 02/17/2017. Learned of recall from NHTSA website, not from Toyota.
I tried to stop + could not. If feel as if there are several recalls on this vehicle, one that does not meet highway standards, in which the dealership should have known about before selling to me on October 31, 2016. I had trouble getting my title from the dealership + had several issues with the vehicle + it was within the 30 day warranty period, + they told me every time that everything was ok, until I was in my accident + now have + am still dealing with several medical issues.

Takata recall, manufacturer stated they have no replacement available and no idea when one may be available in the near future for at least half a year. Very dangerous risk for me as I drive a lot.
Takata recall. My car is in the highest risk zone (zone a). I was notified by mail on 6/9/2016 but a remedy is still not available as of 12/6/2016.
Takata recall, it has been about a year, maybe more, since I got the first flyer to have my air bag replaced. I have got more over the months. Every time, I call in and try to arrange an appointment I am told that they are going out in waves and that I will be notified when I can get this potentially lethal air bag replaced. Then more time goes by I get another flyer and the same thing over and over again, with no resolution. I find it a bit unsettling that that process would take this long and leave customers stuck with potentially deadly vehicles.
2008 Toyota Yaris. Consumer writes in regards to remedy not available to repair front passenger airbag defect recall notice in reasonable time frame.
Takata recall: fortunately nothing serious has happened, other than the fact that the recall notice indicates I should not have a passenger in the front passenger seat as it might end in injury or death. It has been over a month since I received this notice and Toyota has yet to offer a fix for my vehicle. This has become very difficult in both personal and business as I use my car to carry enough passengers to require an individual to be in the front seat. The only response I get from Toyota is that I need to wait and worse, they cannot give me any kind of date. They are putting me in the position that I may need to purchase another vehicle but then I will not be able to sell mine with a known recall that has no status on when it will be fixed. Toyota has put me into a financial bind that may require I take a risk with an individual in the front passenger seat which in turn could cause injury or death. It's as if they are okay with dealing with a few deaths rather than spending the money to fix the issue.

On the notification it says that until a solution becomes available that I should not operate my vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat. I have a family of 5 and this is my only car. I cannot be expected to not drive or rent a car to protect my family and want the issue with the air bag to be resolved immediately.

Takata recall, this is my only vehicle and I am very fearful to operate this vehicle with the literature about how this airbag could explode sending shrapnel randomly through the cab. I live in hawaii and I understand that in hot and humid environments the risk of this happening is greatly increased. I am upset that there is still no remedy and nothing is being offered to us in compensation for this safety hazard. I don't feel that turning my already small car into a 3 seater (recall recommends that no one sit beside the driver) is a solution. We have all seen how random coffee grounds scatter in the counter, shrapnel would behave in the same way. . So as a driver of this vehicle, I am risking my life even with a small fender bender, or perhaps even without a collision this airbag could spontaneously explode due to the hot/humid conditions.
