We are a small nonprofit that receives car donations and refurbishes them for low income individuals and families. We received this 2009 Toyota Yaris as a donation with about 173k miles on it. When we received it we noticed that the driver's seat seatback was torn in two vertical spots. We thought this to be the result of the previous owner being overweight. Upon closer inspection we found that the two steel vertical supports for the seatback were razor sharp and were cutting their way through the foam of the seat and the fabric. If all of the Yaris seats are built this way this would be a significant safety issue in several types of collisions. In normal use a driver would have no idea what is in the seatback waiting to be force through in a collision.

"takata recall" notice was sent. When I tried to contact a dealership there was no local dealership on hawaii to correct the issue. I would like this issue fixed due to the "takata recall" but not have to send my vehicle to the continental us due to this issue not being my fault.
Takata recall, airbag inflators, power window master switch, seat rail my Toyota Yaris 2007 has three uncompleted safety recalls. One of them is related to the airbag inflators, which are "defective and could rupture, creating a risk of personal injury or death. " I contacted "bill kidds Toyota Volvo cars" several times in the last few weeks to remedy the safety recalls for my vehicle, but noone responded to schedule an appointment for me yet.

Takata recall received interim notice, but did not receive any remedy notification later. Just received auto airbag settlement notice today. Called local dealer to follow the notice of getting the airbag replaced ASAP, and they said they had nobody there to operate the computer to verify my car was under the recall & call back another day. How come I could verify the same day on my phone & the dealer could not? now, I need to take my wife to the hospital & will not be able to contact the dealer until later. So two complaints; no remedy notification & delay by the local dealer.
I want to know about settlement info we had to wait 9 hours to get our car fix and I missed work . I need to know about getting a settlement we had 3 recall on our car just want to know how to get settlement.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Yaris. The contact stated that the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 16v340000 (air bags), 14v168000 (air bags), 14v169000 (seats), and 12v491000 (visibility). The dealer was not contacted to schedule a repair appointment. While driving less than 35 mph, the air bag within the steering wheel deployed with force. The driver's side window glass fractured completely. The contact veered off the road and crashed into a tree. The contact sustained injuries to the body cavity, which did not require medical treatment. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect.
My passenger side seat manual track has broken. I cannot adjust it forward or backwards. There is a spring that fell off underneath. I put it back correctly just as it is supposed to go, but it did not fix the issue. The entire latching mechanism has failed. My 2007 Yaris had a recall for this same issue for the driver seat. The chassis for all model year Yaris' are the same. I believe the seat mechanisms we're continued to be built with a known issue. My car only has 63,000 miles and this seat is barely used.

Takata recall my Toyota Yaris has had recalls 1) the front passenger airbag inflator 2) power window master switch 3) driver side seat track assembly & passenger seat track assembly 4) safety recall e0m - remedy notice various models - spiral cable basically, the driver's airbag is damaged and can possibly fail to deploy. The passenger airbag is a bomb, the windows can cause smoke and fire in my car and both driver and passenger seats can snap off the railing causing people in the vehicle to slide forward or backwards (with no airbag protection) in the case of an accident. This vehicle is a death trap - and when I called to schedule the recalls at my local Toyota dealership I was told it will take over 30 days for the parts to arrive. When I asked what I am supposed to do about driving my family around in my vehicle the representative said that Toyota only "recommends" you don't drive passengers. Is this seriously how Toyota will deal with their customers? my car should be completely recalled with these sort of issues. These are not minor issues.

Our one-car family has been very burdened by this recall for many months because the current "solution" is to not have anyone sitting in the passenger seat. This is already a small car and we have lost one seat due to this issue. If Toyota cannot come up with a solution in a reasonable time frame, they should compensate owners of this car for loss of front seat passenger use.
I haf a car accident due to break malfunction and airbag didnt deploy Toyota is discriminating.

In the affected vehicles, the springs used for the seat rails on the driver's seat and the seat rails of the front passenger seat of three-door models may break. Consequences: if the spring breaks, the seat may not lock in position. In the event of a vehicle crash, the seat could move increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant. Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the seat rail, and replace it with a new one, if necessary, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification sched Toyota is recalling certain model year 2006-2008 rav4, 2006-2010 Yaris, 2008-2010 highlander, and 2009-2010 tacoma, corolla, corolla matrix and general motors pontiac vibe vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the steering column assembly contains electrical connections to the driver's airbag module housed in a spiral cable assembly, which includes a flexible flat cable (ffc). Due to the shape and location of the ffc's retainer, the ffc could become damaged when the steering wheel is turned. Consequences: if the ffc is damaged, connectivity to the driver's air bag module could be lost and the air bag deactivated. The failure of the driver's air bag to deploy in the event of a crash that typically necessitates deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver. Remedy: Toyota will notify the Toyota vehicle owners, and general motors will notify the pontiac vibe owners. Toyota sent owners an interim notification letter in may 2014 to advise owners of the recall. Toyota will mail owners a second letter when remedy parts are available. General motors has not yet provided a notification schedule for the pontiac vibe owners. When the parts are available, dealers will replace the spiral cable assembly, free of charge.
