I was driving on 2nd street and realized I wasn’t going to make it through the light, so I stopped. I noticed that I had stopped in the crosswalk, so I decided to back up. Before backing up, I checked everything—I looked in my left mirror, my right mirror, behind me, and also at the rearview camera. There were no cars in sight behind me. As I started backing up, I heard a beeping sound indicating there might be a car behind me. I checked my mirrors again and looked at the camera, but there was still nothing there. I continued backing up and kept hearing the beeping sound. I checked again—mirrors and camera—and still saw nothing, so I kept going. I sped up slightly. Then suddenly, within seconds, my car slammed to a hard stop. It was a very abrupt emergency stop that caused my head to jerk forward and backward. It felt like someone had hit me from behind. Right after, I looked at my dashboard and saw multiple red warning lights and messages indicating that an emergency situation had occurred. I immediately checked my rearview mirror and side mirrors again, but there were no cars behind me at all, only vehicles beside me on my right hand side that were going straight, since I was in a left-turn position. I am in hospital because of my pain. I have pain in my neck and head , I’m dizzy, the room is spinning, I’m nauseous. My nose is stuffy and I feel like I have cold, and my vision is blurry.

Over the air software update causing the infotainment system to fail and shut down causing all the safety systems to not work. The infotainment system in this car also contains the climate control, am/fm radio, hands free communication, and all charging devices which will not work either. Vw has no solution, resetting the system does nothing ( hard or soft).

While driving down a one way, my infotainment system completely shut down. The infotainment system controls lane assistance, blind spot sensor, a/c, radio etc. So when this occurred, all of the sensors in the vehicle also stopped working. As I attempted to change lanes, another vehicle was approaching on by driver side but was located in my blind spot. Because I didn't see anyone and the alert on my side mirror didnt go off, I assumed the lane was clear and attempted to merge. As I began to merge I noticed another vehicle in the lane at the last minute and clipped it (front driver side fender with passenger side of vehicle) before returning to my lane and eventually pulling over to assess damage. Prior to the accident an attempt to have the infotainment system recall addressed by vw was made but they scheduled the appointment almost a month out (November 5th, 2025). Due to this, I had to continue driving an unsafe vehicle with no safety alert features placing myself and my family at a higher risk of danger.
Software-related problem affecting the infotainment system and connected electronic sensors, including the loss of backup camera, loss of dash screen control information (black out). Loss of defrost control since it is part of hvac system controlled by video screen. Loss of sensors front and rear. Dealer has seen the car. We have called a week later. No expectation of a fix or timetable.
The infotainment center is not working- the screen is black. I am unable to see any of my cameras, change my air/heat- it is currently set to cold and it is freezing when I drive my car, I can’t use my map or hands free calling. This is very unsafe and none of the safety features are working.
My gears shift randomly while driving and every time I do a u turn. My air conditioning goes out for an hour randomly then comes back on side mirror signals do not tell you when a car is next to you or passing you as they should.
The infotainment system stops working and goes blurry. The dash where the speed is shown goes black. Blind sport monitoring on the passenger side does not work. I almost got into an accident today because of this.
Vehicle has auto stop/start. Vehicle shuts down when at a stop sign and does not start . Deactivating the stop/ start function does not help.

The blind spot monitor and rear traffic alert have now turned themselves off 3 times. Each time it will not turn back on by selecting in menu. All 3 incidents have required a trip to the dealer to fix. This is dangerous because when you start the car, there is no warning that they are not on.
We had issues in March 2022 (electronic parking brake engaging while car is moving and driver's window rolling down when attempting to roll it up) that led to the defective door wiring harness diagnosis that was the subject of the national recall. We were without the vehicle for 2 months until late may 2022 when the redesigned replacement wiring harness was installed. We are now having the same problems again (electronic parking brake engaging while car is in motion; driver's window rolling down when trying to roll it up) in addition to the blindside warning lights staying on and flashing with no cars in the vicinity to trigger that. We suspect there are issues with the newly engineered replacement wire harness. The dealership has been slow to respond as well making the issue more frustrating.

Was traveling on expressway when my passenger side rear tire blew. Upon pulling off the road I saw that the whole tire had separated from the sidewall and would need to be towed to the dealership. Once at the dealership it was determined the blow out caused damage to the strut, emissions, and wheel lining. When I got home I researched my tires which are continental cross contact sport lx in size 225/50/20 and found that they have a long list of recalls on this model of tire. I called continental and provided the dot number and mold number but was told it was not part of the recall even though what happened to my tire is what the recall states can happen. I informed the representative that I believe my tire(s) is one of the affected tires as this list is on going. I ended up filing a property damage claim with continental as I feel they are liable for the damage.
The blind spot and rear traffic alert keep on turning themselves off. This has been happening randomly since 2019 and the vehicle has been back to the dealer in excess of 20 times. This is a major safety issue as my wife doesn’t always realize that these systems have decided to go offline. The vehicle has been in and out of the dealer and vw technical services have been involved but is no resolution. The vehicle now has 80k miles on it but the problem first occurred at 25k miles.
