Three problems related to alternator/generator/regulator have been reported for the 2006 Volkswagen Beetle. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The car was stopped at a red light. When the light turned green and we tried to accelerate, the car engine stopped running. It looks like the cause was the wiring going into the fuse box on top of the battery overheated and melted. The alternator harness and fuse box need to be replaced. We are the second owner of this vehicle so don't know if this has happened before.
Every year when it gets cold the window regulators break. I have replaced both sides twice now!.
Defective rear power window regulators. Rear window stuck half open,unable to lock car.
