7 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

I received information dated October 2017 from Volkswagen of America, inc. 3800 hamlin road auburn hills, mi 48326 with a recall notice for my vehicle NHTSA: 17v509 stating under specific operating conditions, an interruption in the electrical power supply to the fuel pump control module can result in fuel pump failure and lead to a loss of vehicle motive power while driving (vehicle stall). This condition can also cause the fuel pump to run continuously, resulting in a drained vehicle battery and/or a no-start condition. this means an engine can stall while driving and can increase the risk of a vehicle crash. This is very alarming to me, and I am concerned about my safety along with my infant son who is a passenger in my car daily. I have called 2 local vw dealerships (dorschel & ide Volkswagen) in rochester, NY and have been notified multiple times that there is no fix at the moment. I owe over $10,000 on this vehicle currently and have limited income so I have no choice but to keep this vehicle and drive it. I have had multiple issues with this car and several recalls. I have put over $2,200 in repairs on this car in the last 4 months for defective sensors and wiring. This new recall can directly cause a deadly accident and I am at a lost for words!.

10 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2016

Takata recall - I have received urgent recalls since April 2016. . . I have been driving with a known dangerous/deadly issue for 34 months. . . I have attempted to have the service completed, have been on a waiting list at several dealerships, was put on another one today after making another call. How does takata get away with this??? I was told to wait on fuel pump recall until airbag work.

11 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 07/27/2015

I just bought this 2009 Cc from buena park Nissan dealership in California, in February 2015 and put in just 6000 miles. I was driving to work on beverly bl on July 27th when all of a sudden the car just lost power while in motion. Fortunately I was in the outside lane and was able to pull to the side. After checking to see if there was a loose connection to the battery or whatever. . . . I started it and was able to drive 3 blocks to work before it stalled again. I had it towed to my mechanic and was diagnosed with p2293 low fuel pressure. He said it was drive able but that one day it may not start. After that incident the car has stalled 8 other times twice on the freeway and the last one was at an intersection with my wife and my 87 year old mother in law. I had high pressure fuel pump replaced and as the mechanic came to pick me up to get my car it stalled in the middle of an intersection while he was driving. It stalled again before we got to his shop. I decided to check into this issue and discovered that this is a common problem with the Ccs. I have not driven the car in a month and is parked in new century dealership in glendale,CA . After contacting Volkswagen corporate, they asked me to take it to the nearest dealership which I did. Four days later I got an email stating they cannot offer any financial assistance and more so I am responsible for the $130 diagnosis fee. It is only a matter of time before there serious fatalities from this very dangerous situation.

12 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2015

I was driving on the street and my vehicle lost power and shut off without any warning. Once, the vehicle shut off I tried to restart it and it had no power. Engine and battery lights were on at this point. I had the vehicle towed to the vw dealer. Had the battery replaced and they need to replace the fuel pump, fuel pump regulator module $975 + counting. I had another incident back on 2013 for the fuel pump control module. It's a constant issue wilth the fuel assemly line being deffective on the Cc's.

13 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2015

The fuel pump failed while driving resulting in an engine shut off and left me drifting with a dead engine in the middle of traffic at 45 mph on I-195 with the power steering and breaks not working due to the engine shutting off.

14 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2014

My vehicle was being driven locally (<3 miles) to a local grocery store. There was no indication of any issues with the fuel system. There was no alert that appeared on the dash to indicate an engine or vehicle issue as it should be with the vehicle info system. Upon completion of shopping I started the car as normal and then it stalled. I then attempted to restart the vehicle several times, but could not. I towed it to the local dealership where they told me that it was a faulty fuel pump and had to be replaced at a cost of $1500+. A fuel pump simply doesn't die without there being some symptoms or issues with power going to the unit. There should be some indication of an impending issue with the fuel pump like a check engine light. It only makes sense that the light should come on see that the engine is not getting all of the fuel it needs. Now that its been replaced, I recently (7/30/14) filled my tank and the pumped stopped at the top end of 17. 2+ gallons (near capacity) of the tank. When I started the car it showed 3/4 of a tank. As I continued to drive close to 20 miles the gauge slowly reflected the actual gas in the tank. I would genuinely hate for the pump to stop working on the highway or a state road/local street, because the parking brakes automatically turn on when the car stalls or turns off which is clearly a deadly hazard.

15 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 05/09/2014

There have been several problems with this car. The electrical power to the fuel pump has been feeling as though it is shutting off. When I first got the car, it stalled twice on me, while I was driving on a public road. The tires have balded or warn quickly. Engine leaks oil often. The fuel not getting to the pump has been overwhelmingly often.

16 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2014

I have a 2009 Cc that after driving for a long time 1-1 1/2 hrs the car boggs down and dies at low speed or coming to a stop. This has happened at least a dozen times since the first occurance. This is a very dangerous safety issue. I went to the dealer and they replaced a fuel pump. In 2-3 days this exact same problem happened again. The engine light code stated that the problem was a fuel pump but that has been replaced already. This needs to be checked into as it is a very dangerous situation and it appears that several individuals are having the same problem.

17 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2013

I was having problems with my Cc after I brought from a dealership for 18 days, when I was driving at one night at a speed of 60mph, while driving it seems fine but after 7 minutes, the car has no response while I stepped on the gas pedal, the engine light and battery light showed up, rpm and speed slow down rapidly. I pull over and I restart the car and continue for another 400 yards and car die, I have it towed to dealership next morning and they found out the car has a bad fuel pump and bad fuel intake and has to replace for $1500.

18 Other Fuel System Pump problem
