The contact owns a 2015 Volkswagen Cc. The contact stated while stopped at a traffic signal, the signal changed to green and the contact depressed the accelerator pedal; however, the vehicle stalled. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that numerous warning lights were illuminated on the instrument panel while attempting to start the vehicle. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The mechanic informed the contact of NHTSA campaign number: 17v509000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
