We have the xenon headlights, which requires us to have headlight washers on our cars due to safety issue for the other drivers on the road so they don’t get blinded, who’s is great if 1) they worked most of the time 2) people did not start pulling the fuse or discontinuing the hose so it hit the ground. See Volkswagen has a know issue, that when they pop out to spray the headlights, they are known to break the cover! this in turn leaves the sprayer exposed to the elements to get clogged and not work, owners to get mad because they just break again after replaced (reason why they get disconnected) and the cost is not cheap to replace, the actual part is not bad the problem is, it’s primed grey and you have to get it painted which cost over $100. If you do a quick search over this you will see tons of complaints and the dealership is well aware of the issues, one lady had hers replaced under warranty and they said the sprayer was not in the right place. I could agree with that seeing as my windshield also gets sprayed! there were no warnings, we did not think ours even worked we had the car almost a year the first time they ever worked!! still not sure what made them work exactly.

Upon closing convertible top while stationary on the shoulder of a divided roadway, driver's window jammed halfway and became inoperable. Vw dealer and vw regional office confirmed that this was a known manufacturing defect in window regulators, affecting ability to see properly out of vehicle. Vw personnel said they had actually extended a warranty because of this known defect -- providing 100,000 miles of coverage. However, upon further research, they stated that the extended warranty had expired in 2014 and would no longer be honored despite their acknowledgment that this is a known safety issue caused by a manufacturing defect. This forced me to have the defect repaired at extremely high cost and my own expense. The invoice is attached, and I have kept the ruined parts for further documentation if needed.

Car was parked during incident. Found back glass completely shattered. It appears to have spontaneously exploded as the trim was approximately 1 ft away from the car and any loose glass was on the outside of the car only. There was no indication of any impact or vandalism. Contacted vw service dept who states they have never heard of anything like this happening and indicated no recalls or service bulletins. When looking online there was in fact several reports of vw spontaneous exploded rear glass and even more reports of exploding sun roofs. Thankful I was not driving at the time however, because if is not attributed to a reported vw problem, costing me $750 to get repaired.
