Burning smell occurred on off-highway road, traveling at speeds under 5 mph. Hot sensation on thigh prompted quick action to turn off vehicle / seat heater while getting out of the vehicle a 1/4" hole was found on the left side of the drivers seat. Harness was disconnected and service was scheduled.

Driver's side seat heater caught on fire burning consumer's leg. Manufacturer was notified.
While driving at 5 mph consumer smelled smoke. Driver's seat overheated. Consumer parked the vehicle and exited before the seat burst into flames. The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were sustained. Consumer almost had an accident while trying to steer the vehicle to safety.
