Recall -engine and engine cooling I have a 07 Jetta 2. 0l. 2 months ago I noticed a gas smell when I took my oil cap off I noticed there was a lot of steam/smoke & I could tell that's where the smell was coming from. There was nothing visible other than the steam/gas vapor. The coolant level never moves. I was only getting 15 miles to the gallon because it was leaking into my engine. On 7/13/19 the engine seized (locked) up while I was driving it. I was driving my wife to work with our 5 year old son. I had just turned on the street of her work going 10 miles an hour & it felt like my car just died. I couldn't even get the engine to turn over. I had to get my vehicle towed to a repair shop. Which is when I found out that the engine seized. I have absolutely no transportation now. (recall faulty air bags my car is miles away at the repair shop, so I can't take a picture of the air bag light but it turned on about a week ago and hasn't shut off. My concern is that this is something that a repair shop can not fix/ its going to be so expensive that I can't afford to fix it. It has faulty air bags that can just go off while I'm driving! safety bags are a �must have� & it is illegal to sell/produce any non safe vehicle! I seen that Volkswagen company made a hand full of recalls on this vehicle over the last 8 years. The previous owner kept the car in a garage & started it daily he just never checked for recalls. Parts on this car are compatible with the 06-09 Jettas& sportwagons & he had replaced parts. I'm unsure which ones were replaced. My vehicle falls under the category of a vw Jetta sedan. I'm having all of the same recall issues that the Jetta is recalling for. & the horn does not work when it's parked. The air bag lighy was coming on and off then it just stayed on , so it never goes out, everytime I get in my car and start it up the air bag light comes on and stays on.
The contact owns a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. While driving various speeds, the air bag indicator illuminated intermittently. An independent mechanic was made aware of the failure and performed a diagnostic that determined that the passenger air bag and the rear seat air bags were faulty. In addition, while the vehicle was on an incline, a burning odor entered the cabin of the vehicle. An unknown Volkswagen dealer in bennington, vermont was made aware of the failure, but could not determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown.

I had issues with the fuel system and air bag light on just started. But dealer carmax did not tell about any recall for the fuel system few years ago. But I just seen that in your system. And car max changed me a lot of money for the fuel system being replace around Feb/2016. So can some please help me with this issues. And wanted to will carmax be able get reimburse for them thanks.
My vehicle has approximately 165k miles. Right at about 120k miles, the transmission started shifting harshly. At times, the transmission would get stuck at 3rd gear, and the transmission indicator panel lights up prnd all at once. This usually happens when driving hills, or stop and go driving. My airbag light is also on constantly. I've had the issue fixed previously, however, the issue has returned. Lastly, my passenger side door does not like all the time. I've tried to remotely and manually lock the door; however, it is not working properly.
On July of 2013, the vehicle was taken in to open road vw after reaching out to NHTSA and vw of amercia for assistance with getting the car repaired due to the warranty being expired. The vehicle had a safety issue with the airbags that would have impared the airbag from deploying if involved in an accident. Vw repaired the vehicle at no charge. On sept of 2014 in the early morning the air fault indicator came on again. I immidiately contacted open road vw and explained the recurring issue. I spoke to amanda who stated to me that there was nothing vw could do since the vehicle is out of warranty and that they were not going to repair the vehicle even if it was a safty issue not brought upon wear and tear. She then asked me to call vw customer care center 1-800-822-8987 and spoke to a doug who stated to me in a sarcastic manner that if it cocerned me that much I should get it repaired because they were not going to stand by it this time. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and he refused. I then asked for his complete name and he refused to provide his last name. He then put me on hold for ten minutes and attempted to find a supervisor to no success. I also asked for a supervisor name and number and he refused to provide that or transfer to anyone that could.
The airbag light came on one day while driving. Pulled over and shut car off then restarted and light stayed on. Looked light up in manual and it states there is a problem with the airbag system and they may not deploy in an accident. This concerns me as a major safety issue. Secondly my passenger side door lock fails to lock or unlock intermittently. As a result I have to leave my car unlocked at times since there is no way to lock the door manually. Also is a safety concern if the door won't unlock in a crash situation.
On June 29 2012 airbag indicator light came. Vehicle was taken to vw and they stated that it was the wire harness under the passenger seat. Since vehicle wa not under warranty I had to pay $375. 00 to get it repaired (or so I thought) July 17th 2013 aribag light returned. On July 22nd 2013 I took car in to vw this time they had my car for two days and diagnosed the proble to be the airbag igniter. I questioned the faft that they didnt caych that the fisrt time and they replied that the scanner didint catch it(yeah right) the service guy tells me that its $500. 00 fot the part and 8 hours of labor, ouch!!! are you kidding me that is a safety issue and should be covered regardless. I contacted vwoa and I'm still waiting for a response. I refuse to pay that money for a safety matter that is clearly a manufacuter defect. I will neve again buy vw. I'm seeking repair expense paid by vwoa and a refund for the harness since it was not the problem.
Contact owns a 2007 vw Jetta. Current mileage was 30,573 and failure mileage was 27,000. Contact stated since the purchase of the vehicle the air bag light would flash on the dash board. Contact took the vehicle to the dealer and repaired the seat belt as well as a sensor for the air bag. The next morning the air bag light came on and so the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer. The dealer did a diagnostic test and did some more repairs and 3 week later the air bag light came back on. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and they replace a sensor in the door. One week after the sensor was replaced in the door the air bag light has come on once again. Contact has not taken the vehicle back to the dealer at this time. Contact feels this vehicle is unsafe and that the air bags are unreliable. Jo.
2007 Volkswagen Jetta had a rattling noise in the windshield. Consumer states that the noise grew in intensity and annoyance. He tried to find the location of the noise and lightly tapped the windshield and it cracked. The consumer stated after the windshield cracked, the air bag light illuminated. The dealer claimed a rock may have hit the windshield, however the consumer stated that was not the case. The dealer also stated the air bag light illuminating had nothing to do with the cracked windshield. The dealer fixed the air bag problem, but they did not fix the windshield.
I bought my car last year 02/15/2007, its a Volkswagen Jetta wolfsburg edition yr. 2007. . Here are the incidents with my car: 1) 08/06/ 2007- horn is not working. According to vw service men they found a faulty spiral spring via gff test plan r&I driver airbag, steering wheel, column trim and steering column electronics control module r&r spiral spring and performed basic settings during road test and ckl'd ok. 2) 08/06/ 2007- airbag light indicator is on. According to vw servicemen they found a fault for the driver side airbag igniter resistance too high after unplugging the component and replacing it within a known good one found that the value in the measure value blocks didn't change and checking the steering wheel control moudleconnectors to see if they were damaged they figured it could only be the spiral spring that is faulty. Ordered spiral spring. 3)11/08/ 2007- performed recall q-8 / inspect headlights 4) 01/08/2008- break is making noise. . According to vw service men they checked for noise from brakes, found rear brake pads were metal to metal. Replaced rear brake pads and rotors. Found e-brakes cables adjusted too tight adjusted cables. Found rear calipers dragging. Replaced bad calipers and performed test drive. 4) 01/19/ 2008- when I turned on my airconditioner on last Saturday, 01/19/ 2008 a smoked is coming out through my rite rear tire and it smells like something is burning. I called the vw service they said I can come in on Monday anytime to have it checked. I did come in yesterday Monday, January 21, 2008 to have it checked one of the service men test drive the car with me but then there is no smoke coming out anymore so what he advised me to do is just take my car with me again and if it happens again then come back. He just look around my car and the hood and didn't find anything wrong. My concerns is I don't think am safe driving my car anymore because I don't know what's going happen next, and I think my car will be considered as a lemon car.
