The contact owns a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta. While driving approximately 45 mph, the engine began to rev excessively high. There was no response when the accelerator pedal was depressed. There were also no warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle finally resumed normal operation after the accelerator pedal was depressed several times. In addition, the vehicle exhibited unintended acceleration. The failures occurred spontaneously. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, but they could not duplicate the failures. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer on three separate occasions for identical failures, but there were no resolutions. The VIN was unavailable.
