I keep getting phone calls of vehicle recalls I have a 2013 Jetta se 2. 5. I do not timber the date of the recalls but I know there is another recall on my vehicle.
My car rolled into a wall on the other side of a parking lot while I was inside the opposite building. There is no alert/indicator/notification that the e-brake is engaged. There are alerts for the seat belt, air bag, truck/door opened, low gas, lights, etc. There is even a notification on the screen to remind me to grab my phone after I turn off the car and open the door. But for the e-brake, which is a two-step process that requires discrete pauses by the driver, there is nothing. This is a serious design flaw, that could result in a car rolling and injuring someone. I urge you not to wait for critical moments as in the past for auto alerts to be installed in cars, but to act now. I request all auto manufactures, vw and otherwise, that have e-brakes, create an alert that notifies the driver the car is off and the e-brake is not engaged, recall those cars, and update the computer. And if there isn't room, I suggest deleting the notification to not forget one's phone.

I have a 2017vw Jetta which suddenly locks as I am driving. My car suddenly starts reducing speed and the breaks become stiff. I see several lights flash on the dashboard, such as the epc light, tire warning lights, and motor light. After the matter, if I want to start the vehicle again, the break and shift stick become stiff and I can't start the ignition. I recall this happening to me one year after buying the vehicle but all I did was turn off the car and the lights went away. I was able to drive my car without that happening for a year or so and it happened again. Same thing, I would have to pull over, turn the vehicle off and wait for about 20-30 min for the vehicle to start. Yesterday this happened to me while driving to work. I was driving about 70mph on the freeway and I noticed my steering wheel became stiff and my car started reducing speed on its own. I no longer had control of the vehicle forcing me to pull over on the side of the freeway at a very low speed almost causing an accident. I had to wait about 15 min for my car to start and was able to get down of the freeway but it kept on happening on my way home and I had to pull over about 6 times waiting 10-15min each time for my car to start. I scheduled a service appointment with my local dealership so they can take a look at it and hopefully fix this problem. I believe this is a safety issue that needs to get addressed immediately.

My vehicle shuts off while driving and I see certain lights show up when this happens the I lose the control of the vehicle until it powers back on. Ive already ruled out the battery and alternator in the vehicle. I looked up recalls and though there is not one associated with my VIN there are recalls that are very similar to my issue that I have from December 15, 2016. When the vehicles electronics shut of the wheel locks making me unable to turn. When the electronics come back on I regain full mobility.
Its leaking from the cooling part its get very hot.

Factory defect.
On certain passenger, wagon, and convertible vehicles equipped with or without cruise control, a brake light switch may malfunction if it was installed incorrectly. When turning on the car, the air bag default button comes on. The interior lights do not come on. While idle car rumbles and shakes, while accelerating or decelerating car shakes (front end). My fueling system is terrible it seems as if gas sometimes doesn't get to my car it stales very often while driving or braking and accelerating again. Terrible electrical problems. Trunk will not open front light and brake lights work when they want to. When the heater is on it makes loud noise and tick even with the a/c on it does the same thing. While turning it stales and then take off really fast. While idle car rumbles and shakes, while accelerating or decelerating car shakes (front end). The etc sign comes on and the car lost its power significantly. The obd scan does not show any code.
The car disables the abs while driving, and the abs, brake and electronic stability control indicators are lit simultaneously, while the car dings. Quite distracting. A little research shows complaints for the same behavior since just oct. 30, 2019: NHTSA id number: 11277060 NHTSA id number: 11288718 NHTSA id number: 11283008 NHTSA id number: 11279604 there is a recall which was considered closed for my vehicle for this issue: 16v913000 dealership has also quoted about $1500 to replace the abs module, because the current module cannot be updated. Seems like there are lots of bad modules that cannot be updated. This is a hazard condition; especially here in michigan.
Car starts to shake epc light and engine light come on have to pull over for it to stop shaking.
I suspect that my 2019 vw Jetta computer system/car was hacked/driven remotely on 12/3/2019 that caused an accident (photos attached) that led to my car being a total loss. I sustained injuries and was taken by ambulance to the local er from the accident. This case is still involved in court proceedings as of today. I was driving home and my car speed accelerated without me being on the gas and my breaks were not working. Without turning the steering wheel I drove off to the right hitting a parked car. The police report indicated that after impact with parked car #1, I rolled back 55 feet and hit another parked car on the opposite side of the street. I did not think any of this was possible until I was reading about car hacking and cars being driven remotely. I also did not think that it was possible with the impact safety features on a vw Jetta, I could possibly roll backward after the impact of parked car #1? I am looking to have this issue investigated. I am also sending information to the fbi internet crime complaint center.
The car randomly stalls!!! this has happened several times and the dealer says nothing is wrong because there are no codes. This is so dangerous and I do not feel safe driving it. Twice the car stalled when sitting at a stop light and once when I was driving on the city street. It will restart after I let it sit. It also stutters/jumps and DE excellerates.
While driving 45mph, epc and engine lights came on and car suddenly decellerated, causing traffic behind me to drive off the side of the road to avoid hitting me. Fortunately it was on a curve with enough room to avoid a multi car accident. Then my car accelerated to normal and I parked it and shut it off. When I restarted it, it quietly lost power and stalled in reverse only. A few hours later I started it and the warning lights were off and the car was towed to a shop where no error codes were showing in order for them to fix it and it seemed to be operating normal. So, I drive it home but this intermittently and suddenly reoccurs. And each time I am told that there are no error codes showing so there is nothing they can do (or like I'm imagining it in other words). It seems that after the car sits, whatever is winky, resets by itself or something. . . Until it happens again. I am attaching a pic of the epc and engine light to prove this happens, even though they are off by the time it gets to service. Tow today took 3 hours to arrive.
I originally took my 2015 Jetta se tsi certified car in to be serviced at the vw dealership because of the steering pin safety warning that was issued because the airbag light and steering light were on and it started having trouble starting and all kinds of instrument lights were showing. I was told I need to replace my battery which I did and they did an 24dr emissions recall to my car. I picked my car up and was told now I have a no key code. I have since had nothing but trouble. I have to start my car in emergency start mode. . . Erghh. My car began bogging down. My car then began to randomly without warning flash the esc control light on, then epc light and then engine light. At the same time this is happening, no matter what speed I am going even interstate driving, the car will not accelerate. I had this happen and had to pull over coming out of a tunnel. I restarted and drove home with only the engine light on. I had my car then towed back to another vw dealership. They tested my car on the computer and I was told to replace the spark plugs for misfires which I did. They also noted the no key code and diagnosed this as me needing a new body control module which I suspect definitely has something to do with the recall being performed either directly or indirectly. I returned to the original dealership who replaced my battery and performed the recall without my knowledge or consent. On the way to take my car to the dealership the same incident with my esc and engine light occurred. I pulled off the road and restarted it; this time the engine light didn't stay on. I arrive at the dealership and wait four hours to be told the diagnostics show no history of any incidents or impaired drivability. I was sent home feeling unsafe because even vw can't diagnose my vw. And it happened again after I left! this happens at speeds of 10, 30 or even 60 mph!!.

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact received a notification in the mail under NHTSA recall number :19v615000(electrical system, steering). The contact did not notify the dealer or the manufacturer about the recall. The contact was informed upon calling NHTSA that the parts are not available. The contact stated that her tire warning light had illuminated on her vehicle. The contact also stated that vehicle made hard shifts while driving at various speeds. A failure had not occurred on the vehicle. The VIN tool confirmed that the parts are not available. Jo.
I was driving at approximately 45 mph when a deer came into the road from the right side. I seen the deer and should have had plenty of time to miss it and come to a stop. I removed the car from 5th gear while using both the clutch and brake pads. Once I applied significant pressure to the brakes the completely locked up, as did the steering wheel. My car collided with the deer and subsequently traveled off the right side of the road in a spin, stopping approximately 40 feet down an embankment. Since then I have had no luck keeping the vehicle running. I have had the alternator, plugs and coil packs, starter, and ignition changed with no remedy. The vehicle will not start.
Abs module has failed. Fuel pump has failed. 3 door lock modules have failed. Radio has failed. Fuel pump issues caused battery drain issues.
The abs module faulting is a known and common problem for these vehicles. Vw has a recall for the abs software-recall #16v913. If your module doesn't crash when the dealer performs the update, which it likely won't, then they do not replace the module. We feel this is a workaround to cover them to not have to replace them. Ours went out this month while I was driving. This was extremely dangerous as I lost steering control and the vehicle kept downshifting below 30 mph on a highway that I should have been traveling 60 mph on. The epc and abs lights came on. When we called the dealer, they agreed to look at it to see if it was the abs module and if it would be eligible for replacement under the recall. It was not covered because they were "unable to perform the software update". This is because of the specific wording on the vw recall. I have read that several other customers have been turned away because of the same thing and left with expensive repairs. They should issue a recall to cover the faulty abs modules all together and not exclude them due to the "software update. " the recall is a play on words to cover them from not being required to replace them. It is strategic and misleading. We called vw and was told it would not be covered also. Here is a web link of other people logging the same experiences. There are others online. People can get killed driving these when they go out. Now we have to pay to a lot of money to get ours replaced by the dealer. Https://urldefense. Proofpoint. . Read more...
I have been told my car is not eligible for the abs module replacement claim but there is a problem with it as I drive the car. The brake light, traction control light and abs light are all on and flashing with a beep that is consistent once the key is in the ignition and it's a very distracting sound that I wish I could fix myself but even the part costs $600+ and to go to the dealer and get it fixed for $1800. I am a college student who doesn't have the funds to fix this issue and I have not been given a reason why my vehicle is not eligible for the fix.
