1 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 01/05/2014

This incident has happened twice. First incident was when I encountered a herd of deer on a rural road. I was travelling at highway speed of 55 mph and had to suddenly brake and DE-accelerate to avoid a collision. The folding back seats flopped down in the DE-acceleration. Similarly the same maneuver occurred on an urban freeway. I had to DE-accelerate to avoid a collision at 65 mph and the same event occurred. If there were passengers or a heavy load in the rear area behind the back seats, they could have been thrown against the front seats or an object from the rear could have flown forward and hit the front seat passengers. I am sure that the seats were properly latched.

2 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2004 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 09/21/2011

Last year I was driving home from school one night it was cold out so I turned on my heated seat. My seat started to get very hot in an isolated area so I turned it remembering the recall I received in the mail. The recall stated that the heating element in the seat could be faulty and the seat could catch fire. I called my dealership and they expressed to me that the recall was expired! what how could some thing that could cause injury have an expiration date? well after that I no longer used the seat but one day my son who wanted the car to be warm for his mother started it and turned on both heated seats by the time I went out to the car it was filled with smoke and a hole burned through my seat. Another issue I have is I got a recall on my sun roof saying it causes the drivers side back and front floor to flood. When it did I took it in to my dealer they "fixed it", well last week it poured terrible the next day I went out to my vehicle to find 4 inches of water on the floor of my drivers side back seat. Today 09/18/2012 I took it in to my dealer to be repaired and they wanted to charge me $100 for diagnostic fee. This is outrageous I have a child and to have water sit in between the metal of the car floor and the carpet I am disgusted!!! it smells so bad I had to sprinkle baking soda on the floor to keep the smell at bay. The water is still squishing between the carpet and the metal and it is supposed to storm again today!!! I am completely fed up with Volkswagen!.

5 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 05/03/2009

I was in a rear end incident in which my 2003vw Jetta was struck almost dead-on in the rear by a 2009 BMW sedan. Both my wife, seated in the front passenger seat, and I, driving, were wearing three point seat belts. The airbags in our vehicle did not deploy. Both the drivers seat and the front passenger's seat were reclined almost completely as a result of the impact, to the point that any rear seat passengers we might have had in the car would have been pinned by the reclined front seats. Updated 05/20/09 updated ivoq 05/27/09.

6 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2006 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 10/10/2006

I leased my 2006 Jetta 2. 0 in January 2006. Currently the car has stalled on me 4 times and I have had numerous failed starts. The vehicle fails to start when I use the main key and the valet key. This problem has become pretty consistent now that I have put more miles on the vehicle. I am now at 20k and its been a headache all the way. I can only be thankful that when the car stalled on me on numerous occasions that I was not in heavy traffic. The dealership says that they can not identify the problem and therefore there is nothing that can be done. Supposedly, the car starts without a problem when it is in their service bay. In addition, when I first got the vehicle, my back seat latches were broken causing the back seat to lunge forward during hard stops and turns. This made my Jetta a two passenger vehicle! also, the hazard lights and switches were malfunctioning. The front suspension or the brakes make a grinding noise or they have a loose feel, I haven't been able to put my finger on it yet. Im taking it to the dealership once again tomorrow! my steering column make a faint squeaking noise during turns, I have no idea what that problems is. In the morning after I can get the car started the engine is loud for about two minutes. The dealer fixed the latch problems but the other problems go unfixed and remain a huge mystery.

7 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2001 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 04/15/2004

I was cleaning my vehicle and noted underneath the passenger seat frame a broken spring. I took my 2001 Volkswagen tdi Jetta in for inspection to the timmons of long beach vw dealership. I was told that the seat frame was defective and that the bottom seat would have to be taken apart to replace a new adjuster spring . I was told by the service manager that my vehicle was out of its two warranty period. . . . Although it has less than 24,000 miles as stated in my owner's manual. The warranty policies of Volkswagen of America has changed in all models after 2002 since I bought the vehicle. . . Giving other customers 4years or 50,000 miles. There has been numerous, horrendous quality issues concerning this vehicle including the problem I am currently experiencing with the vehicle. I don't feel the car is safe to drive with another passenger since the seat is not able to hold its proper position and could be a possible product liability issue if I ever was in an accident. Furthermore, I feel this repair should be covered under a recall and I should not have to endure the costly repair.

8 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2001 Volkswagen Jetta

Interior console paint peeling, fabric fading, engine rattle noise, window actuator failure and noise, thermastat, fuel door actuator, seat springs snap, brake pad excessive wear, a/c runs hot.

9 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2001 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 08/31/2000

I am not satisfied with my 2001 Jetta. One week after I purchased the car in Aug 2001 the passenger and driver side seats started to move everytime I stepped on the brake. I took it to the dealership and they said nothing was wrong. A few months later I noticed that floor padding on the back seat area (both sides) started bulging. The dealership indicated that is normal for all 2001 Jettas. I have several friends who drives vw and they never had the same problem with their floor paddings. A few months later, the window on the driver side broke. All in all my driver side and passenger side windows have malfunctioned 5 times. In addition to all these problems, the temp gauge also malfunctioned. The temperature gauge would move from extremenme heat temp tocold tem and vice versa. What upset me is that there are two current recalls for 2001 Jettas and I havent heard from vw. I wasn't even informed about the window regulator problem.
