8 Seats problem of the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 07/14/2020

Both front bucket seats ' backrests are tilted inwards. On the driver's seat this causes unbeknownst to the driver to tilt his neck slightly outwards to correct the inwards tilting and produces a long term neck pain effect of which he is unaware of its source . If you put a string around the back rest and slide it down from top to bottom and you can clearly measure the difference in depth distance between the cord on both vertical ends of the backrest as you slide it down. I did the test recently in front of a vw technician and he agreed with me that the backrest was tilted inwards. I first reported this issue to Volkswagen of America when the car was still under full warranty in September 2016 when I just bought it with 24,000 miles. At that time they said they depended on the dealers mechanics opinion. But the techs once confronted prefered not to analyze evidence that was unfamiliar and potentially compromising. I went back to Volkswagen of America recently with a full confirmation of the problem. I told them that after a hundred thousand miles of using back rest cushions and a stiff neck pain to show I was absolutely sure that there was clear reason to recall and replace at least the driver's seat . Furthermore during the pandemia I stopped driving the car for about 4 months and the neck pain faded mostly away . At this moment a supervisor from Volkswagen of America called me back and said rudely they were not going to do anything because the car was now out of warranty and they would only replace the seat if they were mandated by a recall. So here I am. . . Pursuing a solution to a hidden-hard to diagnose problem that I believe not only affects my car generation but other models of Volkswagen manufacturing.

17 Seats problem of the 2006 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 12/20/2018

While driving 70 mph on the freeway, my drivers seat began moving on it's own. The top part of the seat pushed me up against the steering wheel while the bottom half pulled me back so I couldn't reach the pedals. I had my 2 yr old grandchild in the backseat and barely made it off of the freeway. The seat continues to move even while the car is off. The tow truck refused to help because of legal reasons and the vw dealer wants to charge me $140 just to look at it because it's no longer under warranty. This is a very dangerous defect that can cause a very serious accident. Vw should be held responsible for any defective parts regardless of the year of the car and should not be charging anyone to fix this.

18 Seats problem of the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 11/23/2018

While driving around, doing some shopping, I had the the seat warmer turned on level 3-4 on the driver seat and by the time I got home I started smelling smoke in the car and noticed that my seat burned all the way through my jacket. I went to the Volkswagen dealership and quoted me over $1000 to replace my seat. I cannot use my seat warmer anymore, it's a fire hazard. Is there anything I can do? any recall on this issue?.

Drivers seat adjustment automatically moves seat while driving. If you are tall, the seat moves you into the steering wheel and I'm afraid this could cause an accident as you cannot turn steering wheel and your knees are pinned under the dash.

21 Seats problem of the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 09/05/2018

My vehicle is displaying the exact defect described in NHTSA recall number 15v627000 for Volkswagen's 2015 Jetta. My vehicle was manufactured in November of 2014, which falls within the recall time frame. However, the manufacture refuses to make repairs because they have not included my car's VIN number in the NHTSA recall. This issue can be observed when the vehicle is in motion, and when it is stationary. It has occurred in situations where the vehicle is on a city street and on a highway as well as turning. I don't know what else to do at this point, I just want my vehicle to be safe. Thank you.

22 Seats problem of the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 09/01/2018

Passenger airbag is off even when someone is sitting in the seat. If someone does not have the seatbelt fastened in the passenger seat the bell and light will not come on.

23 Seats problem of the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 08/01/2018

1) driver's side front seat belt became problematic to click into the receiver, often when inserting the buckle into the receiver, it would bounce back out as if being ejected 3-6 times before latching. Dealer examined, acknowledged something wasn't right and recommended replacement of the receiver. 2) driver's side front seat began exhibiting slight rock and click during acceleration and deceleration. Dealer recommended replacing the seat frame.

24 Seats problem of the 2006 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 07/10/2018

While driving the vehicle at approximately 65 mph the driver seat started to move forward on its own towards the steering wheel in which I was unable to control the driver seat it would not reversenearly causing a serious accident. I also noticed that the vehicle horn no longer works due to some sort ofelectrical issue. The issue took place while I was driving on a major highway.

25 Seats problem of the 2006 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 06/05/2018

About a week ago, I noticed my driver's seat was too far forward, so I used the seat adjustment controls to move it back to where it was comfortable. Almost immediately and periodically throughout the week, whether I was driving (highway or local), stationary, or stopped (with the engine turned off!), the seat back would move back and forth, sometimes lunging forward 4-6 inches and then back about 10 inches. This caused me, while driving, to be pressed almost on the steering wheel or at full arms-length, back and forth numerous times. Sometimes pushing one/any of the setting buttons would stop the rocking for a short time; sometimes it had no effect. This issue is of serious safety concern to me as it makes steering and braking/accelerating very difficult and not controllable. There must be a recall on this model as this problem has been reported on this site since the model first came out in 2006! it is unconscionable that no recall has yet been issued.

26 Seats problem of the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 11/01/2017

Airbag, brake, abs lights are on and stays on. 3 loud beeps when turning on the car. Received recall notification but my VIN does not show recall when looked up which is also alarming. According to the vw dealer, this is a factory/ manufacturer defect (cheap parts from china and bad installation is what I told) but they cannot fix since VIN is not showing up in their system. My entire airbag system is completely shut down as well as brake system. I am in a panic!!! but dealer will not fix factory defect and is charging $1700-$2200 to fix. This is alarming as well as unfair to consumers!!! this needs to be addressed!!! people could die because of this. And this is not an understatement! correct your your recall and VIN tracking system and fix my car! thank you.

Seat warmer burned a hole through the seat and burned through my clothing to my skin. I reached back to see what was wrong and burned my hand. I had smelled smoke but it was too late by the time I figured out what had happened. It could have been extremely dangerous if I had been on a busy road with my son and it started a fire. I was lucky I was in our small town and was able to get pulled over quickly. While there so no serious injury, this could have ended much worse.
