Transmission fluid cooler leakage dripping fluid where it might contact a hot surface and result in a vehicle fire. Allegedly according to vw this is not supposed to happen in vehicles with my VIN, but my mechanic says it is happening.

As I was driving my new 2012 Volkswagen Passat from my house to my destination, my transmission fluid began to leak out onto the street. I had purchased the car eight days earlier which was a new car from the dealership which only had 2 miles on the car. The amount of miles I had put on the car was 500 miles and the transmission fluid leaked because of a malfunction inside of it. The car was under warranty and they dealership had to put a new transmission into my car because of the old one had defected parts inside.

I have an '03 vw Passat . About 4 months ago I noticed it had started hesitating when trying to back uphill. I took it to the dealership and they put transmission fluid in it. It was ok for a short period of time and it started again. I took it back. They scanned it and said there were no leaks but they put in more transmission fluid. That lasted 1 1/2 weeks. They are now ordering a whole new transmission because the slipping did it when the service people drove it. They had not test driven it the previous times until after they put in fluid.
