The vehicle began to fail while parked, the check engine and epc lights came on. It began to fail as if it had no strength. On December 23, the dealer was taken for the third time due to the same problem, the first time they told us that it was gasoline (puma) that that brand could not be used, they changed the brand to shell and continued with the problem. Before this happened, the deler made us a recall of something and after this it was that the failures began. The bus only has 3,500 miles. The last thing they told us that what is damaged is the evaporator today is December 30 and they have not returned the vehicle to me. The passenger side of the suspension sounds when you get a bump or a hole in the road and tell us that it is normal in the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated that while driving at 10 mph, he heard an abnormal high pitch sound coming from his vehicle. The contact attempted to move the vehicle and the vehicle stalled without warning while attempting to reverse. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with a dislocated lower ball joint on the front passenger's side suspension. The vehicle was then initially towed to three county Volkswagen (701 riverside Ave, lyndhurst, NJ 07071) where the vehicle was diagnosed. Prior to the failure, while making a left turn, the contact scraped the side of the curb with both passenger's side tires. The contact took the vehicle to hudson valley Volkswagen where they performed an alignment on the vehicle however, the mechanic was unable get a perfect alignment. The mechanic informed the contac that it appeared that an unnamed part of the vehicle was bent but that the bend could not be located. The contact was given an estimate to have a diagnostic performed however, the contact declined the diagnostic. The contact was assured by the dealer that the vehicle was safe to drive. Upon further investigation, the contact became aware of NHTSA campaign number: 18v324000 (suspension) which he linked to the failure. The contact had the vehicle towed to gensinger Volkswagen (842 valley rd, clifton, NJ 07013) where the vehicle had yet to be repaired or diagnosed. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and they agreed with the initial dealer that the failure was related to the incident that occurred on his vehicle six months prior to the ball joint failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,700.

Vehicle sounds as if it is bottoming out when driving over uneven surfaces or small dips at any speed. Noise is mostly in the front with heavy concentration on the passenger front tire. Particularly around 30-40 miles per hour. Vehicle has previously been in (after 3 days of owning it 03/09/2019 for a rear shock replacement on the drivers rear). After owning the vehicle for 6 months the noise has gotten worse. Brought it to the dealer again 08/17/2019 and no issues were found. I took the tech on a long test drive on the roads (parkway) I travel daily max speed is 45. He heard the noise and stated I was maxing out my suspension (this was at 30mph) and the noise I was hearing was the suspension hitting the bumpers underneath and not the actual vehicle, this was completely normal. Noise can also be heard going over speed bumps and driveway curbs at even lower speeds). I have driven other Tiguans and volkswagon models on the same roads and this does not appear to happen. My vehicle currently does not show under the any current coil recalls. I would like someone to please revisit this VIN to see if this vehicle could also be part of the recall.

There is a loud thumping noise coming from the front suspension. This only happens on downwards road bumps (does not happen on speed bumps). Happens while in motion. The faster the vehicle is, the louder the noise becomes. Dealer is unable to identify the issue. The vehicle has 11k miles at the moment, and issues is there since it was brand new. Dealer suggested we wait until problem gets worse so they can identify it easier. Documented in the paperwork that a complaint was entered, but they were unable to "replicate". I have many instances recorded on my dashcam, however NHTSA does not have the option to upload a video.
Rattling noise over any uneven surface worse at low speeds. Volkswagen tec told me that was just the way it's built. I smell something fishy brewing with the suspension and Volkswagen claim that it's a normal noise is beyond me I'm debating on going for a lemon law refund if it's not resolved.
2012 vw Tiguan was sent into the dealer for brakes. Dealer stated the spring was rusted and cracked at around 70k miles only. Upon questioning regarding the premature damage to the suspension the dealer stated "it's a common problem. " the dealer charged around $700 for the repair. Sounds like a necessary safety recall to me.
