Carrier/rack Problems of Volkswagen Touareg

Overall life of car have had to replace the majority of the hoses in the engine, the fuel line, the emergency brake release leavor-3 times, the horn on the passenger and drivers side. And with the recall the gas flange - cracking. The product vw uses in this vehicle is inferior- plastic expands when hot and contracts when cold= cracking. Please recall this vehicle due to the potential of the gas flange or whatever else is related to the gas before anyone in my family or others die. Or my cas goes up into flames causing severe trauma- especially because you already know there is a problem. We have paid thousands of dollars in repair costs in this vehicle that vw of America will not help - the entire enterrier plastic coating to the vehicle has melted - the drivers side visitor hangs as the spring action or what ever it's called is broken. We have owned many cars, fords, Toyota�s, Honda's and several vws. The Touareg and all of primary safety features should always function safely-the gas issue is a major issue that should automatically be a recall to save lives!.

While driving at approximately 60mph on a smooth two lane wide highway the front sunroof panel (panoramic) shattered. There were no other vehicles on the road, no overpasses and no trees above. It was around 65-70 degrees fahrenheit. It was not hailing or raining at the time. No objects were recovered from inside of the vehicle. The glass appeared to have broken upwards instead of inwards. Fiancé and two dogs (trunk area) were inside of the crucible. Glass caused very minor cuts. Vehicle recently detailed and also cleaned by myself. No rock chips present in sunroof glass. No visible cracks prior to incident.

The dash on the passenger side of the vehicle is cracking all the way around the airbag container. I fear that the airbag will be able to come lose and possibly cause injury or become non functional and thus unsafe when in need.

The center carrier bearing on the drive shaft went out. At first it sounded like I had a flat tire but upon further inspection that was not the case. This seems to be a common failure. I was told a design flaw and all of these would fail. . The dealership says that the entire drive shaft has to be replaced. But it will not be covered since it is out of warranty. Since this is a common failure it should be fixed by vw and not costing all their customers over a grand to fix.
