Seats Problems of Volkswagen Touareg

Power seat reclining function on passenger and driver side. Due to the top of the adjustment lever being positioned too close to the top of the set cushion, if you sit on the edge of the seat, the seat back will continue to recline until you get up if you notice it or it hits the back seat bottom cushion. If there is a child in the back seat it could cause injury. My daughter almost had her legs crushed when my mom delayed exiting the vehicle with the passenger door open and sitting partially on the seat. She did not even notice the seat reclining until it hit my daughters knees.

Vehicle has 72000 miles on it, driver seat heater burned a hole on the leather, burning my pants, underwear and skin while I was driving. I had to pull over because smoke started to come out of the seat. Vw of fort myers checked it out and confirmed the heater was bad, but they said they don't make the replacement part anymore. No warning lights came on.

In order to flip backseats down to give rear more cargo space the front seats must be moved forward. However when front seats are slid forward more then a few inches the wires for the airbag sensors under the seats are torn and ripped out of place since the harness is to short. This in turn disables the airbags. Vw is aware of this issue and makes customers buy a new wiring harness that is long enough to move seats forward with out tearing to repair the issue.
