One problem related to brake disc pads has been reported for the 1997 Volvo 850. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Rubber boots fell off both front calipers, causing cylinder walls to rust and corride which, in turn, would not allow pistons to detract. Dealer said the calipers were a manufacturing design defect becasue the boots should not fall off so eaisly and is contacting the Volvo representative.
