Side/window Air Bag problems of the 2004 Volvo S40

The contact owns a 2004 Volvo S40. While driving less than 50 mph, the contact crashed into the rear of the preceding vehicle. The passenger side air bag deployed, but the driver's side air bag did not. A police report was filed. The driver was transported to the hospital and released with no major injuries. The manufacturer stated that they performed a complete safety inspection on the vehicle prior to selling it to her, and the diagnostic did not indicate any failure with the air bag.
