1 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2007 Volvo S40

Failure Date: 02/01/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Volvo S40. The contact stated that her vehicle feels as if it were downshifting; however, it has an automatic transmission. When she begins to accelerate, the reduced engine performance light illuminates when the downshifting occurs. The dealer replaced the accelerator pedal and cleaned the computer after the first failure. After the second failure, they replaced the computer. The failures still persist and the contact is scheduled to take the vehicle to the dealer next week. The speed was unknown. The failure mileage was 3,000.

2 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2000 Volvo S40

Failure Date: 09/06/2006

The key has been sticking in my ignition when I park. This time when I could not get the key out, I restarted the car in park, of course with my foot on the brake. The car jumped into reverse and flew backwards out of my garage at a high rate of speed. It crossed the road and ended up knocking down a garage and totaling the car. The brakes were on as evidenced by the tire tread and skid marks. It was a bizarre occurrence and very frighteningly.
