Replacement of cv joints- October 2018 my vehicle was diagnosed with leakage from the cv joints which splattered all underneath my vehicle. My vehicle only had 69,000 miles. The technician stated that they should not have been a problems with so few miles. He stated that my vehicle's steering would have been compromised if they had failed and cause damage to my engine. I travel 1 hour one daily to work. It could have caused a potential accident if it hadn't been diagnosed in time. It has been since then repaired.

Prior to latest incident, the car had occasionally gone into "limp" mode, sticking in 3rd gear but drivable. That problem would go away after a day or so. Local shop couldn't find anything definitive. Bigger problem was yesterday evening's loss of throttle control and multiple electrical issues. Idle throttle setting (eg stopped at lights) became unstable, occasionally revving upto to ~2000rpm. Moments later on suburban divided main street, throttle stuck at ~2200rpm which meant I was doing 45mph (straight line) without any pressure applied to gas pedal. Slowed on the brakes until I shifted into neutral at which time everything died (electrical) and came to a stop, short of traffic lights. Time of incident approx 8pm est (dark), roadway fully lit thankfully. Car was pushed off street. Some electrics came back on when tried but full christmas tree lights (ie everything) across entire dash. Towed home. Removed ignition key (was inserted to ensure steering was unlocked) but radiator cooling fan remained on (engine hadn't run for 2. 5 hours by that time). Pulled a fuse under the hood to stop it dumping the battery. Car is no youngster, manuf 2003 in netherlands, purchased second hand in 2005 with approx 20,000 miles on the clock. Currently at 108,000 ish. Other issues with car (not safety related) means I wont be having it fixed given its age and general cosmetic condition. It will be donated for scrap.

The vehicle independently decelerated and stalled. The vehicle was towed to a dealer and it was diagnosed that the transmission fuel line was fractured. The transmission fuel line and the transmission fluid was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000. Mf.

I have a 2001 Volvo S40. At about 90,000 miles the gear shift button broke. Now you can change the gears with out pressing the brake pedal. I have small children so I have to keep my car locked at all times when I'm not in it. If they were to be in it they could pull it out of park with no problem and the car would start to roll. I am very concerned about the problem because I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this problem and it is a safety issue. The shifter on the internet is over $250. 00 to fix it then you have to pay to have it put in.

While driving 40 mph, my car engine stopped. After being in the shop for a month, they detected that the tackometer was bad and replace it. This is a major safety issue in that I do not feel comfortable driving the car anymore. It has not occurred again but I think this needs to be researched. Regarding the radio, we have had problems with this over the last year. I have had them look at the problem at least 12 times. We are having static throughout the chicagoland area.
