Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problems of the 2002 Volvo S60

Fuel odor noted on passenger side of car, toward the back of vehicle near tank, car has 137,000 miles on it, purchased new, live in kansas and garage kept. No leaks noted under car, vehicle is still starting.

Strong fuel smell, especially when standing beside the car. Dealership is unsure what the problem is, but mechanic noticed gas leaking above the tank. There are many people with the same or similar problems (see online Volvo forums), and a nationwide recall might be appropriate. I urge the agency, and put it on notice, that failure to act might result in an accident that could be fatal.
