2004 Volvo S60 purchased the car used in sept 04. On 7/8/24 stranded at 7-11 car wouldn't start. In stop and go traffic, my foot was on the brake to slow down. I took my foot off the brake and stepped on the accelerator as traffic moved again, there was no response to my foot on the gas pedal. The fuel tank, which I had just filled 10 miles before, showed as empty on the fuel gage. I was very, very slowly rolling forward with residual momentum and my steering wasn't working. There was just enough play in the wheel and forward momentum to aim and arrive at the shoulder of the highway. This was on rte 156 in monterey county, California, where very dangerous accidents happen all the time. Car had to be towed and the dealership has been unable to replicate failure. It was outrageously dangerous and I was alone with my 11-year-old child. So frightening!!!.

The approximate failure and current mileage was 145,000.
I drive a Volvo S60r and when I am accelerating I notice that I have a very large lack of power going from 3000 to 3500 rpm's, there is almost no increase in power. I have brought up the issue with a Volvo dealer and they informed me that there was a recall for this, but my car for some reason did not get the recall. He said it is the same issue but there was nothing he can do about it.
Expansion of NHTSA campaign id number 07v226000 ( Volvo recall no. R181)for fuel pressure sensor. Have same make, model and year. Manufacture indicates my VIN not covered. Dealer replaced fuel pressure sensor. Error code on car p0194. Description matches recall.
Fuel pressure sensor functioning outside of its normal parameters ecm code 2600. There is recall on the problem but dealer will not replace the sensor free of charge. Recall #07v226000.
The vehicle on several occasions will completely shut off while in the middle of driving. I have taken it to several mechanics and was advised that they cannot find anything wrong with it. I have had this happen while driving on the expressway at over 70 mph and local at 35 mph. I have to immediately shift to neutral and turn the car back on. It is extremely scary. I have been lucky that there has never been anyone behind me, but if someone is behind me and it happens again, there will definitely be an accident. This has happened 8 times now.
2004 Volvo S60 may have a pressure sensor problem. Consumer states that there is no Volvo dealer in her area and needs help with finding one.
