The contact owns a 2015 Volvo S60. The contact stated while driving at approximately 35 mph, the steering became extremely difficult to turn and several warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the "city safety" light was illuminated and drove over a manhole cover on the road and the vehicle stopped. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the two ev batteries needed to be replaced because the battery could not be charged and tested out at 9 percent. The contact was advised that the battery failure caused the failure of several vehicle system. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
