The contact owns a 2024 Volvo S60. The contact stated that while reversing, the rear-view camera was inoperable. The contact stated that the failure recurred while reversing on one occasion, causing another vehicle that was also reversing to crash into the rear driver's side of the vehicle, near the fuel door. A police report was filed. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where a software update was performed in March 2025 and January 2026; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it remained for three days, but the contact was informed that no further software updates or camera replacement would be performed. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 25v908000 (back over prevention); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 7,798.
