I bought this car from elderly people. After I bought it and drove, there's lots of thing not according to safety standard? I asked them (seller) but they don't have any answer, due to their age. So, since last Tuesday, I am driving as it is. Hardly I put 250 miles so far. There's belt sign, air bag sign, and low tire air sign. All signs are showing in my dashboard and stays as long as car is on. So, I am scared to death to drive this car, car itself in a mint condition and it's got only 131k miles. Still there's is more life left on this car. I am also senior citizen and retired person. So, I need help to get these fixed ASAP please.

For the last several years I’ve been complaining about my tpms always reflecting a “low tire pressure “ response. Recently I went in for a oil change but indicated the my tire pressure light was on again. I take the Volvo to a shop I trust. Global autoworks in grandhaven. They took care of my previous owned BMW without any issues. I put in Volvo S80’s recall site and found that there was a recall on 10/07/2010. The vehicle was a private purchase made in January 8, 2018 from the original owner. Upon purchase I made the decision to put new tires on the vehicle to see if that would fix the problem. $1200. 00 later and the problem was not resolved. I do not feel that I should pay for safety issue that the company knew about. I spoke to the previous owner and she did not receive a letter from Volvo. The Volvo is in very good condition with low mileage for a 14 year old car. 69,815. Second issue: seat belt issue. Reason for recall: Volvo car investigations have identified a problem regarding the front seat fastening. All I can tell you if I lean forward abruptly the seat belt will not tighten or secure itself. Recall r10029 again we have safety issue. I would like Volvo to fix both issues at their expense not mine. Both owners have maintained this vehicle in beautiful condition and these issues were not the result of the owners. They are Volvos issues. I would greatly appreciate someone at Volvo looking into these issues and bringing forward a resolution.

The contact owns a 2009 Volvo S80. The contact stated the seat belt warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the seat belt assembly to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 20v378000 (seat belts), however the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 188,000.
After starting my car I tried to put on my seat belt but it would not extend out so I could not put it on. This happened last night and the problem still persists today.
While pulling into a parking space from the driving lane of a parking lot, my Volvo had a surge of power that could not be controlled/stopped by applying the brakes. I was barely in motion with my foot on the brake when we (my mother, sister, and I) heard the engine roar and the car surged forward. I applied more pressure to the brake but the car would not stop and went over a wheel stop so I then started pumping the brake. The car finally stopped moving once it hit a pipe bollard but the engine would not turn off, my electrical went haywire and I could not get the car in park to remove the key. Upon impact the passenger seat belt did not hold my mother in place and the air bags didn't deploy. I am the original owner of this car which was in pristine condition but now wrecked. I have all the service records for this car and have had problems in the past with the following items; faulty cooling fan module, engine running hot, faulty battery cell, faulty scu module, faulty starter, faulty map sensor, faulty oil level sensor, faulty power steering rack, faulty fuel pressure sensor, failing lamp socket, faulty schraeder valves, faulty alternator and voltage regulator, and a faulty ac compressor.
While turning into a parking space from the lane of a parking lot, with my foot on the brake, my Volvo S80 accelerated so powerfully it could be heard yards away. I applied the brake harder but the car wouldn't stop and surged over a wheel stop, it was still surging so I started pumping the brake, the car finally crashed into a pipe bollard bringing it to a stop, the car wouldn't turn off, the electrical was going haywire and I could not get the car into park to remove the key. Upon impact the seat belt did not hold my mother into place and the airbags did not deploy. I am the original owner of this 2008 Volvo S80 awd with 58k miles on it in pristine condition. I have had problems in the past with the cooling fan module, engine running hot, the scu module, map sensor, a faulty fuel sensor, faulty schraeder valves, faulty alternator and voltage regulator, faulty ac compressor but never a power surge to this extreme.
My driver seat belt just locked up and I am unable to get it to release. All of the housing inside car appears to be cracking. I have had the two front windows repaired over and over again. And now I can't even let my front windows down. I have also paid to have the throttle body repaired. Not to mention how many times I have had to replace the O2 sensors.

"srs (supplemental restraint system) airbag failure urgent" message came on. I took vehicle to the dealership for repair. The diagnosis was a faulty (r) front passenger seat belt assembly, which was replaced. Several days later the fault message returned. Dealership checked codes and indicated it was the same exact part. I had the previous owner's service history for the car and discovered this problem had occurred 6 months prior to me purchasing the vehicle and another dealership had already replaced the same seatbelt assembly. So instead, the current dealership replaced the control module for the entire srs system. Two days later the fault message returned again. The car is back at the dealership for the third time now and has been there for a total of about a month. They are not sure exactly what the problem is, but suspect the wiring harness under the front passenger floor area. I have researched this issue quite a bit and have discovered a recall involving the connection for the clock spring in the steering wheel for my 2010, but more telling is a recall affecting 17,000 vehicles encompassing many models my 2012 for a wiring problem where the seat harness may become disconnected when moving the seat. Perhaps even though my vehicle is a 2010 it still could be the same problem since not much has changed between these model years. I have also learned that the srs system disables the airbags when this fault occurs so this represents a major safety rist to me and my family.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the seat belts were working up to standards. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance. I have a 2000 Volvo s 80 and it was sold to me by a dealer this car has so many problems and I feel that when I took the car to Volvo they tried to charge me 6400 just to fix the problem like abs sensors, stc sensor , throttle etc I feel its un fair I only had the car for 3days what can I do.
Air bag light came on. Had the car checked by a Volvo service garage. The technician said that the srs (supplemental restraint system) module needs to be replaced. I was informed the pyrotechnics in the seat belt system and the front air bags do not work until the module is replaced and programmed. The re-programming is a 'dealer only' service. This is a permanent safety failure which has life or death consequences if I am ever involved in an accident. Not corrected as of 03/08/10.
