These generation of Volvo p3 platform cars had a defective windshield seal that was not the best from the factory. Many cars of this generation (s60, S80, xc90, etc) have had the seals break, causing extreme water leakage as mine has had. And the possibility of the windshield falling out. Mine is bad enough that pushing it lightly from the inside to create a significant gap in the window and the frame of the a pillar. There are many forums and reports of this exact problem and Volvo has yet to voluntarily recall these cars. Many people have reported it to many dealers, but all say they cant replace them. This problem definitely puts the driver and other people in the cabin in danger. And no warning lights go off in relation to the problem. I appreciate your consideration.

Leaking windshield. Notice glass loose from top of windshield. Water leaking down into car on passenger and driver side. Floors soak and wet. Unable to drive in rain car smells due to wet floors. This windshield never was changed, it is the original. This is a safety issue. This should be a recall. Made an appointment with Volvo dealership on 5/22/2023, they confirmed the windshield leak, water coming in from the top of the windshield. Advise to reseal or replace was told glass will continue to come loose if not taken care of. The windshield can cause an injury or accident if it comes a part while I'm driving. Many Volvo's owners have this defective windshield. The leak is due to poor sealing during manufacturing of the vehicle's. This issue should be on the recall list and repairs done for free. All owners who had to pay for this repair should be reimbursed. The floor rugs should also be included in the recall, because it can cause health issue like mold, which is unhealthy. Safety for your customers should always come first.

The stock oem windshield has come away from the body. This a common on-going issue with p3 Volvos. My car leaks water into the cabin. It is dangerous not having a windshield glued down to the body.
There is a leak or gap at the top of the windshield allowing water to get into the car. Most notable when there is a heavy rain and the car sits overnight. Then what happens is that the water that gets in either fills up in the interior dome light areas or splashes out onto the gear shifter creating puddles. This can be distracting while driving as water will splash on one's face from the water that is pooled in the dome light areas. Also there is a fear that this can cause further electrical damage, some of the lights on the gear shifter are already not working as a result. This moisture has also begun to deteriorate areas of the instrument panel as well.
Winsheild leaks inside when it rains across passenger and drivers side.

The car was purchased on March 1, 2012. Shortly after the purchase of the car the wiper blades malfunctioned. They did not work properly and we had to pull off to side of the road on the highway with our children in the car. They would not shut off even after we pulled the key out of the ignition. It was a huge visibility hazard. We called the dealership where it was purchased and they would not help us, even though it was still within our 30 day warranty period. Every time we operated the vehicle the wipers would turn on even when we took the key out of the ignition. We called the two Volvo dealerships in the state of minnesota and were told we would have to pay for repairs. We took it back to the mercedes dealership where it was purchased and they told us to take it back to Volvo for the recall (09v139000)repairs and called on our behalf to arrange an appointment. The Volvo dealership told us the recall had already been performed but the computer was still showing the windshield wiper errors that should have been rectified by the software. Finally, the Volvo dealership re-installed the updated software. It has been several days since the recall software was installed and the wipers continue to malfunction and has now begun to scrape our windshield and drain the battery. We are concerned for our safety. The car cannot be driven. The remedy for the recall does not rectify the safety hazard. Operating this vehicle will dramatically increase the risk of an accident and yet we need our automobile for transportation every day.
