The door cannot be opened from the inside of the car. The mechanism to open the car door from the inside compartment is defective. The latch cable end is contained by a plastics housing. The cable end has another plastic part that snaps into the housing. There are clips on both sides of the plastic housing which hold down the cable end. When these clips break the cable end comes out of the housing. When the housing clips break, the inside door handle will not open the door. In the event of a crash and loss of power the occupant would not be able to exit the adjacent door.
Began experiencing what I now realize many, many people with this model/year have experienced with lurching, revving high and jerking forward, and missing in drive (with transmission). Volvo has told many that a software update will fix this problem, but it does not fix the problem. . . At all. I hope this will be investigated so that a recall can be issued that will fix the parts/mechanics of this recurrent problem, and not with bogus software updates.
Transmission fails after multiple repairs (updated software) it is still not right.
