Automatic braking failure: another vehicle slammed into my vehicle as I was moving at a slow pace. That other vehicle pushed the front of my vehicle into a dumpster in a parking lot. The automatic braking should have engaged and stopped the car so it wouldn't have crashed into the dumpster. It is unlikely the vehicle is available for inspection as it was towed to a salvage yard. My safety and that of others was put at risk. The problem could not be reproduced - the vehicle was severely damaged and undrivable. The manufacturer (Volvo) refused to inspect it. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms. Unsure if this is relevant, but the vehicle recently (less than 1 week ago) received an over-the-air (ota) update to software version 5. 0. 5.
