Pulling into driveway, pressed on brake pedal. Foot was on edge of brake pedal, and rubber cover popped off. After inspecting, it appears that the "lips" on the back end of the rubber pedal cover that hold it to the metal pedal are not long enough to grasp the pedal securely. It should wrap around the pedal like a rubber band, but there is so little extra rubber on the back that it appeared that the rubber cover could literally pop off, and that's just what it did. Go inspect yours. This was on a 2010 Xc60 t6 awd with standard rubber pedals. Underneath this rubber cover (the traction on the pedal), is a piece of untextured metal which has zero traction. Driving, this could cause a serious accident. Slightly wet and there is no way to stop if your foot slips due to no rubber on the pedal any more.
