Automatic Transmission problems of the 2004 Acura MDX

2 Automatic Transmission problem

Vibration and chatter noise while accelerating between 15to 50 miles per hr. . The vehicle is a 2004 Acura Mdx with about 100,00 miles on it now noise is very bad and seems to be getting more often and louder we just bought this vehicle in Feb 2010 if would have known this had this problem we wouldn't have bought it something needs to be done by the manufacture to take care of this,there seems to be alot of Mdx units with this problem.

3 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2009

The contact owns a 2004 Acura Mdx. While traveling at 15 mph, there was an abnormal grinding coming from the transmission. In addition, when accelerating at 15-40 mph, the grinding would stop. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where he was informed that the transmission would need to be replaced. There were no prior warnings of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 91,000 and the current mileage was 105,000.

4 Automatic Transmission problem

Our 2004 Acura appears to be very sluggish and slow to accelerate in 35-40 miles range and was pulling to the right. So, we took it to Acura dealership in los gatos, California on 1/27/2009 for further investigation. That's when the dealer recommended a new transmission without any mention of the existing recalls on the 2004 Acura Mdx transmission problems.

5 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2004

After shifting out of reverse into drive, the vehicle continued in reverse until the consumer turned off the vehicle and restarted it. Dealer was notified.

6 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2004

There is a consistent metallic clanging/rumbling at 2,000 rpm in any gear, particularly under part throttle/light load operation.
