Brake Disc Caliper Problems of Acura MDX

I have been complaining for two years that my car intermittently hesitates when accelerating. I have pulled out into traffic and my car has hesitated long enough that I've almost got slammed in the back by another car. The car feels like it is about to stall. I will press the gas pedal down to the floor and finally the car starts moving again. Brought the car in on several occasions to Acura and since they could not reproduce the hesitation, they decided there was nothing wrong with the car. Another issue I've had is with my brakes. At 13,000 miles both of my front brakes were worn down to the metal. When I brought the car in, it was noted that both calipers seized. The brakes and calipers were replaced. About 14,000 miles later, my right front brake was down to the metal. My left front brake was fine. After keeping my car for a week and consulting with the engineers in California, Acura decided there was nothing wrong with the brakes and that it was my driving. I asked how I only put the right front brake on and not the left. They did not have an answer. But because they couldn't find anything wrong, I had to replace both brakes again.

The contact owns a 2004 Acura Mdx. While driving approximately 35 mph and making a right turn, there was a clunking noise coming from the engine. The vsa warning indicator illuminated, the brakes applied independently, and the vehicle stopped. The contact had to depress the accelerator pedal to continue driving the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the stability assist system failed and needed to be replaced. The independent mechanic replaced the brake pads, discs, calipers, and fluid; however, the failure recurred. The independent mechanic informed the contact of NHTSA campaign number: 13v092000 (service brakes, hydraulic, traction control system) and to contact the dealer. The dealer was not contacted. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 41,179.

2005 Acura Mdx with 60k miles. Pulled into starbucks to buy coffee came back out put car into reverse car started pulling out immediately while foot was still on brake car would not stop stepped harder pushing the pedal all the way car continue to reverse I panicked and pushed the shift stick to p *foot was still on the brake car still didn't stop it hit a row of hedges. *note I bought this car new from the dealer apart from the loud thuds that Acura say due to floating brake calipers I had one other dangerous encounter. Approx 5k miles on the vehicle while traveling on the freeway about 65mph all lights on the vehicle dash came on, lost all power and car started slowing down immediately. I pulled over to the side turn off the car waited for a while and started again it drove normally home. Never had a crazy incident till this morning at starbucks. I nearly had a heart attack and no longer needed the coffee.

The brakes make a loud clanking, clicking noise. It seems like the pads are shifting and sometimes it sounds like they are about to tear right out of the calipers. We purchased the vehicle used still under warranty and within a week returned to the dealer and it has been there 3 times since in the past 10 months and they continue to tell me its normal. The noise is so loud people tunr around in parking lots just to see where the noise is coming from and we are afraid it is not safe. I found that many people are complaining of the same problem online. Something needs to be done.

Excessive brake clunk / thud noises under normal braking conditions. Severe brake noise and control issues under emergency braking conditions. Told by Acura all is "normal". With such travel in calipers (cause of noise) potential for brake failure must exist. Worried. . .
