2 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 09/13/2018

While driving downhill a car approx 1000 feet ahead of me was slowing down to turn right while the car was still turning but completely out of the intersection the automatic brakes came on and came to a complete stop. The car that turned right was down the street it had turned on completely out of sensor range and the automatic brakes would not let off, when trying to accelerate it got stuck in gear but would not budge. Like when you dont shift a gear for too long in a stick shift car. Finally the brakes let off and I was able to drive but further down the same hill the automatic brakes did the same thing again while trying to accelerate to change lanes, there was not a single car infront of me at this point and no reason for the automatic brakes to do this. Both incidents almost caused me to be rear ended.

3 Brake Sensor problem of the 2014 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 05/28/2016

Recently faced a situation where I was traveling on a freeway @ 65-70 mph and suddenly SUV flashed a fcw( forward collision warning system) . I had to apply the brakes in the middle of the freeway fearing an accident. It may have caused us to to go into a crash with a cars coming from behind . Nhtsa has to look into this feature. There is some problem with the sensors of fcw.

4 Brake Sensor problem of the 2005 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 03/14/2016

I financed a car from a dealer in 3-2016 car was not able to start so the dealer informed me what was the problem and it was that I was using the wrong key. Dealer also said that I can take the car to a mechanic to see if there are any issues with the car took it to pep boys and over 20 issues showed from lack of oil to control arm shaking I had road safety issues and I informed the dealer and he told me to take it to his mechanic and he will give me a discount that's when I started looking at the dealer with suspension I did a car fax and the dealer had an inspection sticker on the car from March the day if financed the car but on car fax it shown that they inspected the car in December of 2015 2 weeks later the air bag sensor shows I called the dealer and he told me not to call no more or he will call the police. I sent him a letter to fix the problems and he just ignored me. . So now im at my last steps. . . I only had the car for 2 months and all of these safety issues are showing what can I do now. . . . . .

Failure Date: 10/10/2014

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Acura Mdx. The contact stated that upon using the cruise control feature, if a vehicle slowed down in speed and the system functioned but if a large sized truck was near the vehicle the sensor caused the vehicle to drastically reduce highway speeds to a low rate of speed less than 20 mph. The contact experienced the failure more than three times in which the vehicle suddenly reduced speeds. The contact was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 15v301000 (forward collision avoidance). The vehicle was to be taken to an authorized dealer for further inspection and diagnosis. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000. Dyd.

7 Brake Sensor problem of the 2008 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 04/17/2012

I was driving my car going about 40 mph when suddenly I lost the ability to steer the car, stop the car, accelerate and cut on my blinkers. Nothing in the car worked. I was desperate to get out of the traffic flow when the car suddenly jerked back on. It did this off and on as I took it to the dealership. Once there they stated that the battery was the issue. Battery was replaced. Various internal components of the car started to fall apart (seat belts, airbags, car lights, car key, window sensors, door locks, alarm, navigation). For a time the car drove but with very stiff handling. Car was taken in for an issue that sounded like a whirring sound at start-up. Everything was replaced to fix the issue with the service technician doing a hail mary attempt at offering resolve. I finally received my car back two weeks later. Then here we go again, I am on the freeway with a brand new battery installed by Acura when everything powers off yet again. Car even braked itself and I saw my life flash before my eyes. I was on the freeway going about 70 mph when this occurred and traffic flow was thick. I took my car to Acura and currently they have had it for over a week. They tell me it is my battery again which they will replace for free but they want to keep for further testing. I work from home and drive my car extended distances when needed and I need reliable transportation. This car is proving unreliable. I am not getting straight answers from anyone and in 4 years I have replaced my battery 3 times! I park in the garage! this is a serious safety concern. I may not be so lucky the next time the power goes out on the car and everything stops working! I see this concern is not an isolated incident and I need help!.

8 Brake Sensor problem of the 2005 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 09/07/2011

The issue at hand regarding the vsa (vehicle stability) for which a recall had already been issued. My vehicle was taken in and received the recall. This however did not resolve the issue which is a serious issue many others I have spoken with face. The "yaw rate sensor" malfunctions causing similar but more dangerous situations than the "wiring harness" Acura claims to have resolved the vsa issue. There is a loud grinding noise, the left front tire seems to brake very hard pulling my vehicle into oncoming traffic and nearly flipping the vehicle the on 7/28/15 at 65 mph. The situation is extreme as others are experiencing. It is not a brief and non drastic pull. If both hands are not on the wheel at the time of malfunction the vehicle may very well flip over. I took my vehicle into the dealership explaining the issue figuring the issue was linked to the recall; however, it is not. The yaw rate sensor is causing my car to think I'm spinning out which immediately stops sending power to the front left tire causing my car to veer hard to the left. They wanted $75 for an inspection as well as $1200 to resolve the issue. This seems like an extremely dangerous issue for there not to be a recall. Please look into other who have experienced the issue.
