I bought new car in 2017 November and around over 2500k miles I heard engine chirping sound and if you're surrounded by wall you can hear it louder. Took it to dealership several time but they said it's normal and show me another car to prove to me. Which it did had same sound. Then yrs go by I hear loud clunking sound underneath the car every time I reversed and when switching gear to reverse. Also about 1-2 yr owning it I heard clunking sound on steering wheel so when mechanic looked at dealership they said it could have been air bag wires so they secured it and shouldn't have any more problem. On 3rd yr I went back to dealership because I know something is wrong with steering wheel clunking sound when turning low speed to right and felt much tighter to turn. They said one of suspension is problem so they replaced but 2wks later happen again. I was in rush for them to resolve before my 4yr warranty ends but they keep playing around saying initially by experience mechanic when we did test drive he heard the sound and thinks it's steering rack or pinion. So I was relived after yr of back n forth they figured out and tells me to wait for next step. But after 1hr waiting at lobby they told me after lifting car up can't manipulate the sound again so can't fix. I wanted to speak to that mechanic again and the way he looked at me and said sorry I don't know what's wrong with it seem like his been told by higher up to lie bc that day they had corporate person visit and that person refused my claim. I asked to fix steering rack or both and they said we can't bc its costing them money and what if that's not the case. I took it to local mechanic and whenever my vehicle is lifted its hard to find the sound but when on ground you can hear. Then recently I brought up that clunk sound to different mechanic during oil change they found out that my body frame was loose so he tighten the bolts. He said it's rare to have frame loose. After that no more clunking when reversing.

The car is making extreme noise from the rotors and it’s screeching. I took the car to paragon Acura multiple times and they stated it’s normal. A brake sign pops up and the car seems extremely unsafe. I have videos to to show everything.

When making a sharp turn on hot days the car makes a grinding noise like something is grabbing the tire. It slows the car, hands the steering wheel and then the vsa hazard light comes on. It is a recurring issue and mechanics have not been able to diagnose.

While parallel parking, the power steering stopped working (car was stopped or going <3 mph). It was extremely difficult to turn the wheel. No warning lights came on. I checked to be sure nothing was stuck in the wheel wells or otherwise blocking the tires. After pulling out of the parking spot, power steering returned to normal. It happened again when re-trying to parallel park, but then power came back to normal. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet. It started all of the sudden today and appears to have resolved spontaneously. But I worry that it will return, perhaps leading to an accident.

Temporarily loss control of my vehicle when I was exiting the parkway and needed to steer around to avoid a stop car my car just took a big rock in motion from side to side. The steering is very unresponsive, vehicle hesitates when accelerating rapidly and when turning they is no stability. Also my breaking doesn't react the way it should it's very delayed. All of the things that the dynamic mode is supposed to enhance appears not to be functioning. I went to the dealer several times they said they couldn't find anything but yet the problem continues. They also said they reset and relearned some parts of the car in an attempt to rectify the issue I was experiencing. The problem still exists. Many times when I come to a stop on a hill the car roll backwards. I was given the same model on one of my visits to the dealership as a loaner. And it ran like a totally different car the way the car should run it was the same year same model. Everything was more responsive the steering the breaking the suspension even when I started the car the start up sound was much more aggressive. Please help!.

On 7/22/2020, after filling up at gas station, steering wheel was locked and eps light came on. Restarted car 4 times and still locked. When tow truck arrived an hour later, car drove and steered fine. Towed to bergman Acura in appleton, WI and they found no problems. Picked up car on 7/27/2020. It drove fine for 2 days. After being parked in a friend's driveway for 2 hours on 7/29/2020, upon starting steering wheel locked and eps light came on. Had it towed again to bergstrom Acura and they said eps system was fried and needed to be replaced.
When turning slowly (ie parking lots), there is knocking/creaking sound heard on the driver's side. Dealer confirmed noise but not able to say exactly what is wrong or why other than to say that it needs fronts axles on both sides replaced at cost of $1200+. In my opinion, they didn't properly diagnose it (and really are just guessing at problem). They only test drove it and that is not only way to diagnose problem with vehicle. It appears to be a product quality issue in manufacturing. The car is 5 years old and has 70,000 miles. All signs showed that it has been taken care of by previous owner and now by me. I have had it for about year when it had 65000 mile. At this stage of its life, it should not need axles replaced. If this was a gm car, I'd said that's probably true but this is an Acura we are talking about. The car has not even been broken into at this mileage.

We have taken our 2016 Acura Mdx to our local dealer three times in the past to complain about noises (clicking and thumping) coming from the front end of the vehicle. Each time the vehicle was under warranty and the response we got from the dealer was "no problem found". Two weeks ago (02sept2023) we took the Acura Mdx to the same local dealer and are told both of the front control arms need to be replaced. Since we are no longer under warranty it would cost us $1559. 78 to replace both. And we are also informed that control arms on this vehicle do wear out frequently and they keep a supply on hand to replace the for the many customers that have had the same problem. While we have not had a direct safety problem with this car yet, the car is relatively young and does not have high mileage or rough use. Based on the fact that this Acura dealer has experienced many problems with this vehicles control arms I would like to register the problem with NHTSA to investigate further.

The steering and the wheels lock when turning. It goes into neutral while driving.
Vehicle was stopped in the #2 lane of the freeway due to heavy traffic. A lane change was made to the left (to the #1 lane) from a stop. After exiting the lane the steering was slow to respond when trying to straighten out (turning right) and almost resulted in hitting the center divider.
On 01/18/2020. I can not start my 2015 Acura Mdx anymore when I was on the walmart parking lot, power steering system ( eps) problem " light was on, the steering wheel was locked up. The car has 61,035 miles.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Acura Mdx. The contact stated while making a left turn, when turning to the right the steeling wheel became difficult to turn. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired as of yet. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 140,000. Dp.
Travelling on city street tire came off with my 2 year old son and 14 year old brother in-law with me in the car. Purchased vehicle from travis @ kts auto sales on 09/23/19 on 09/24/19 the car was considered unsafe and basically not driveable. . Prior to my purchase of the vehicle travis told me he had the vehicle 3 weeks and counting and had been commuting his son back and forth to school and told me for sure the vehicle ran good and drove good. Well it dont and hasnt since the day after I purchased it. The only thing he will and has offered or tried to do to make it right is to trade it back for an old Honda crv in possibly worse condition and way less in value than the vehicle I paid for, I have 3 children ( and travis knows I do) so I took the Honda crv on a test drive anyways considering I have kids and really need a running and driving car and stopped bye my mechanic to take a quick look at it and he did and said absolutely not that he wouldn't not trade the original one we bought for the Honda crv and said if it were him he wouldn't even pay scrap value for the crv it was rusted all the way around the entire car inderneath and around my mechanic said it was very unsafe that if we were to barely get hit or hit something it would crumble and fall apart and that this vehicle he was trying to give me to replace another unsafe vehicle would be even more dangerous than the 1st vehicle was. Also travis from kts lied when he said he had driven the car 3 weeks+ because I got to looking in to see how often vehicle was maintained and this and that found out he only had it 12 days befor selling the vehicle to me (that's not even 2 weeks!!).

Vehicle had an electronic failure (eps) which caused a loss of steering control. Vehicle was in motion in our driveway.
Since taking delivery of my 2019 Acura Mdx I started to notice a clicking noise when accelerating and braking. The issue can be heard also while making a turn. I took the vehicle to the dealership, they replaced the left strut but the issue did not get fixed. This is a brand new vehicle and should not have any issues. This clicking noise is annoying and embarrassing to be driving a new vehicle that makes clicking noises.

I turned the steering wheel fully clockwise with the car off while it was in my garage. As I was straightening the wheel, it became completely loose as if something in the steering shaft or a connection had broken. The steering wheel spun freely in both directions without turning the wheels. The lower u-joint that couples the shaft to the gear box broke. I understand there is greater force on that part while the car is off (no power steering), but the strength of that joint should have sufficient safety margin to withstand this. What if it was just damaged enough at that point that it still worked, but went on to fail in the highway? 70 mph and no way to steer the car. Scary. The car is over 10 years old and has just under 200000 miles, but I would expect a component this critical to be one of the last things to fail on a car.

After the 19-019 and 19-011 recall software update on 04/13/19 we started experiencing the vehicle displaying and motioning steering wheel lane departure when the lane assist is not turned on. This issue happens when the vehicle is in motion crossing to another lane on city streets. We have not drove the vehicle on the highway and are afraid the steer assist will jerk the vehicle at high speeds. We did not experience these issue until after the recall software update.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Acura Mdx. The contact stated that their steering went bad. The steering wheels seized and the contact could not move the steering wheel. However, other times it was hard for the contact to make turns. It was very seldom when the steering functioned normally. The vehicle was taken to barber Ford 640 e 8th st, holland, mi 49423 (616) 396-2361 where the vehicle was not diagnosed. The mechanics stated that the vehicle was fine and had no failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 178,000. Jw.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Acura Mdx. The contact stated that the vehicle produced a loud rubbing noise and shook violently without warning. The contact had to pull the vehicle over to the road shoulder. The failure caused the front driver's side tire to detach from the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to Acura peabody (233 andover st, peabody, MA 01960, (978) 532-9110) to be diagnosed, but the test could not read the codes. The dealer could not duplicate the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and did not assist due to the expired warranty. The failure mileage was 108,000.

I own a 2007 Acura Mdx which has had a number of intermittent electrical problems over the years. I had to replace the handsfree link module a few years ago at the dealer. The yellow check oil level light has come on for no reason for years. It goes on for a second then off. A few months ago the entire electrical system fried and I had to buy a new battery and new alternator. Recently I hear a buzzing sound when I use the turn signals and the hazards do not work at all. Last night the car died on the interstate- the instrument panel went dark, the engine would not accelerate, and I was lucky to be able to get onto the shoulder. I turned off the car and then started it again. When it works there is no problem with the operation but this car is now unreliable and dangerous. I see there have been over 40 complaints for the same thing noted on carcomplaints. Com referring to the NHTSA website, about the car dying for no reason while in motion and that no Acura dealer seems able to fix it and Acura refuses to acknowledge the problem or do a recall the car is now at my mechanic to see if he can find out what is wrong but all the comments I saw on carcomplaints. Com indicate there has not yet been a definitive diagnosis made by Acura or anyone else, and there is no active recall either this is extremely dangerous as the other complaints also indicate that the doors and windows do not operate when the car stalls out and occupants can be trapped inside the car.
Tl the contact owns a 2005 Acura Mdx. While driving at an unknown speed, the steering lost power without warning. The vehicle was taken to pauly Acura (847-433-8200, located at 2699 skokie valley rd, highland park, IL 60035) where the reservoir hose was replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 124,636.
I was driving straight on a residential street at around 20-25 mph when all of a sudden I hear a loud snapping sound. I immediately lost all control of the vehicle and it jerked hard to the right hitting two parked vehicles. Upon inspection, it appears as though the rear control arm on the passenger side front wheel snapped, causing me to lose control.
Power steering (eps) system problem. Is a message being displayed on the car dashboard. The car will not start. This is the second time in 2 years where we had the same issue. This problem makes the car difficult to drive and control.
Takata recall, my air bags has been malfunctioning turning off and on. I check if my vehicle is being recall but my vehicle is not in the database ? my Acura Mdx 2005 needs a recall.
Power steering system (eps) problem. Steering jammed. Very hard to steer.
The vehicle will randomly shut off and restart while in motion at various speeds whether on the highway or surface streets. There does not appear to be any rhyme or reason as to why.
(missing dealer info) tl the contact owns a 2010 Acura Mdx. While attempting to start the vehicle, an abnormal cranking sound was heard coming from the steering wheel. In addition, the contact noticed sparks coming from the steering wheel. On the third attempt to start the vehicle, it failed to operate. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 99,200. The VIN was not provided.
Power steering eps problem while driving and loosing steering.
Our 2015 Acura Mdx has been at the dealership 8 times. Our vehicle has been out of service for approximately 64 days total. It has been at the dealer for electrical glitches starting with seats, steering wheel, gps and for rautomatic braking issues. Steering wheel and power seats repeatedly not setting to appropriate key fob settings. Car has been to dealer for this issue 4 times. Dealer unable to reproduce issue or show "trouble codes" until 4th time in shop. The next glitch moved into the gps system and controls on gps screen. The screen remained bright at night. The controls disappeared from screen. This was video recorded. The dealer stated this must have been a glitch. The dealer stated unable to reproduce the glitch. The dealer stated no "trouble code" detected although it was clearly video recorded with date. The vehicle locked the brakes up while in operation with no vehicle in front. The operator was nearly in a rear end collision had the driver behind not been following at a safe distance. On the next occasion, while at a red light stopped, the "brake" warning came on. This warning is designed to come on when in motion. Operator was concerned if the vehicle had been in motion again it could have caused the vehicle to brake suddenly. These incidences could have caused serious injury or death. The dealership simply stated they could not reproduce the event and stated the vehicle was operating as designed. Owner sent recall articles as it related to braking issue but was informed vehicle did not fall under recall. Owner is simply illustrating with detailed notes and videos that the vehicle has electronic issues that vary and ultimately have turned into safety concerns. Owner wanted "safety concern" to be documented in work order but dealer did not document this as such. Requested dealer put us in a safe car of equal value. They refused.
At 1300 miles. Vehicle exhibited a condition where the entire electrical system failed, triggering alerts for every system. Emissions, stability, every safety function, brakes, steering. Vehicle went into some kind of failsafe mode where the transmission did not shift well at all, and the car was barely drivable. Vehicle did this twice over a weekend. Took it to Acura, and after an analysis they blamed "bad gas. " this is an excuse as the vehicle only had 1300 miles on it and had only had 2 fill ups, and both were with top tier premium gasoline. In addition, I do not believe some "bad" gas should cause the entire vehicle to go completely haywire shutting every system off. This seems to be a major flaw if so. However, as I don't believe the analysis that it was "bad gas", I think Acura handled the situation wrong and is simply using an excuse rather then determining why some sort of electrical condition caused this massive failure of the vehicle.
While making left turn into a road at a signal traveling at 30 mph - 35 mph in motion, engine running - all of a sudden vehicle steering locked and couldn't straighten again. My wife ended up crashing into a road divider luckily it was around 10:30 pm in the night and didn't have vehicles either oncoming or behind. She turned off the vehicle and restarted again, vehicle acted normal. She pulled over to the curb for safety. Dealers reported they couldn't reproduce this issue. But dealer said control arm was visibly bent and need to be replaced without linking reason for the main issue. I spoke to Acura client relations to hear they cannot do much either since dealer cannot reproduce. It seems like there may be a manufacturing defect with this vehicle and no one at home wants to drive this vehicle after this incident.
Suspension clunk. All speeds. Traveling straight or turning if front wheels traverse a moderate change in road surface or over a small piece of debris there is a loud clunk heard from within the cabin. Sound is also produced when driving forward at low speeds (10-20 mph) and turning the steering wheel side to side in fairly rapid succession (steering wheel direction change in every 0. 5-1 second). The front shock absorbers have been replaced without change in symptoms. My concern is that there could be a steering/suspension component that with greater force, e. G. In an accident ,or traversing a significant road hazard like a pothole at high speeds, or even a reactive quick turn of the steering wheel to avoid a potential threat to vehicle and passenger safety, could result in a failure of the causative clunking part(s) resulting in loss of control of the vehicle and/or a collision.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Acura Mdx. The contact stated that while driving at 22 mph in inclement weather, the steering wheel seized completely as the contact veered into the left light of the road. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 106,490. Oo.
While traveling on city and highway roadways, the vehicle wants to drastically veer to the left on sections of roads sloped to the left. You need to constantly apply pressure to the wheel to keep the vehicle from veering to the left. The vehicle is aligned correctly for roads sloped to the right. While vehicle was in the dealership to investigate the problem 3 times with no fix, other Mdx's driven as loaners acted the same. The dealer stated on third repair summary that road tested vehicle and stated vehicle tracking and steering normally compared to other Mdx's. The vehicle is still veering to the left as before. Driving long distances is not enjoyable with the constant steering compensation required.
On 9/3/15, I was pulling into my garage when all the warning lights on the dashboard went off - transmission, check engine, lane detection light etc. Since I was going out of town the next morning, I put it in reverse and drove directly to the dealer. The car was in "limp mode" and I could only drive 35-40 mph. I showed the tech in the service dept. All the warning lights going off, and he said he had never seen anything like this before. He wrote up a work order with the following info: inspect for check engine light on, check engine light flashing and every warning light in the vehicle is on, would not accelerate over 35 mph. The following day I was contacted by the service dept. And was told they could not find a problem; there were no lights on, they even drove it for 40 miles. The service dept. Said they are only allowed to hold the car for five days. Today, 9/8/25 I picked up the car. The dealer's invoice reads: cause: light on – 123505 diagnostic trouble codes/programmed fuel injection (pgm-fi) – retrieve codes with the hds, read data, 74 – wa3. Inspected for check engine light on, found dtc p0303 (cylinder # 3 misfire) recorded freeze data and cleared codes, at time of inspection vehicle was running perfectly, test drove vehicle twice on extended test drives and engine ran perfectly, no dtcs are reset no problem is present at this time. Since the service dept. Could not find the problem and fix it, this means the car has not been repaired and I am driving a defective car. The next time the warning lights go on, I could be travelling on a crowded freeway at a high rate of speed (with my family inside), the car goes in to "limp mode - 35 mph and an accident occurs. This is a safety issue. How can Acura manufacture a $50,000. 00 car and their dealership not be able to find the problem and repair it?.
