I purchased this car in late February 2024. In late July, without any provocation or incident, the windshield cracked on the driver's side. I took the vehicle to an Acura dealer in virginia beach, va, and asked about replacement. The car was less than six months old, and only had about 4,000 miles on it. The dealer stated to me, after taking a number of photographs, that they (the dealer) would submit this as a warranty claim to Acura. I was notified about two weeks later that he windshield was indeed covered by the warranty and that I could make an appointment in early September to have the windshield replaced. Since then, the appointment has been a constant postponement by the dealer and Acura stating that the part -- iu. E. A new windshield -- is not available. The last notification arrived by email this past week (and I am happy to forward the emall chain to you). I cannot het a response form either the dealer or Acura as to if and when this windshield will be replaced. It has not been six months since I started the process.

Wipers do not dispense water(front or rear) and wipers to not reset to original position when in use. Took it to Acura dealership in 03/20/2024 for a 60,000 factory service and problems started afterwards. On 05/16/2024 I had another service at fountain Acura dealership and problems persist.

I recently (11/9/23) took my 2022 Mdx (22,00 miles) to the local Acura dealer for an issue with my windshield washers not working. They diagnosed the problem as the washer jets were clogged and said the replacement parts were on back order and they were not given a time when they would arrive. I am concerned that currently my vehicle is unsafe to drive during inclement weather conditions-- I. E. Slush, muddy roads, etc. Acura customer service has not been able to provide any eta on this issue.

We have replaced the front windshield twice now as it is very easy to crack on small road debris. I have other cars that do not experience this and it feels like the windshield was not designed well.
I was driving my 2022 Acura Mdx on interstate highway in the middle lane of a three lane road. We had our panoramic sunroof closed, but the interior sliding sunroof door was fully open exposing the entire panoramic sunroof. After a period of time and without indication or warning, the sunroof exploded (sounded like a gunshot when it exploded) sending glass throughout the interior of the vehicle as we were driving at highway speeds. We were lucky that there were no vehicles next to us when the explosion happened because I swerved out of my lane temporarily not knowing what just happened. We were not anywhere near overpasses, trees, or any other hazard that might have dropped an object onto the top of the sunroof. Additionally, we did not see any road debris flying towards our vehicle. Fortunately we were near home and we slowed the vehicle down to exit the freeway and made it home to further examine the damage.
Just recently purchased an 2020 Acura Mdx awd with tech package. Noticed that the windshields have distortions near the a pillars, which happens from both driver side and passenger side. I feel nausea when looking through the window corner as objects are curved. I did a lot of research and found this issue has been there for a while. Distortion in windshield has safety issues that should be address by Acura.

Received 6 replacement front windshields, all of which were distorted adjacent to the driver and passenger a pillars. Acura admits that there is a flaw in the mold for this windshield and has deemed it acceptable. They will not certify calibration of their safety electronics with an aftermarket windshield. This distortion is a distraction and a safety issue not to mention slightly nauseating. It is noticeable specifically during turns.

I was driving down a state road. No vehicles or overpasses were nearby. Suddenly my sunroof shattered.
At night the camera on the rear hatch produces a blurry picture. During the day it is clear. It always happens. I’ve taken it to two dealerships and they could not reproduce the issue because it needs to be dark around the car. I’ve brought in photographs. And they still can’t find an issue. On line there are many complaints about this issue. I can’t see if someone walks behind my vehicle.

While driving my 2019 Mdx I noticed that the back-up camera was on remaining on, and I could see the road behind by vehicle. I pulled off the road and turned the car off and then restarted thinking this would correct the problem; however it did not correct the problem. I also noticed that the lights that indicate that I am backing up remain on even when the car is in park. Inside of the vehicle, the climate control isn't working. The car appears to be "safe" to drive, with the exception of the distraction from the backup camera remaining on; and, not being able to defrost/defog the windows or warm the car. The Acura dealer in ardmore, PA will be servicing the car on 02-10-2020.
Distorted windshield on the right pillar.
The front windshield is distorted on the right and left side. The distortion makes it hard to see things clearly and makes me feel dizzy when driving. It's like looking through an hourglass. There have been several times I have had difficulty parking because of this issue. I almost hit a car in a parking lot because of it.
The front windshield is distorted on both the driver and passenger side, pillar areas. When looking through the windshield at these points, the glass is extremely distorted and causes nausea. This portion of the glass is unavoidable as you need to view the entire windshield in order to check for pedestrians, vehicles, or other objects. It appears this is a flaw with many of the 2019 Acura Mdx's and should be addressed appropriately.
Recently purchased a new 2019 Mdx and the front windshield is severely distorted. This is occurring along a wide band near the front passenger and driver side pillars. Objects such as vehicles and pedestrians appear wavy and severely distorted while driving. It is very evident when turning or at bends in roads that require looking across the vehicle. It also causes difficulties while at an intersection and checking for oncoming traffic. When driving and looking through these portions of the windshield it causes blurred perception, momentary dizziness and disorientation which is very unsafe.
I purchased a 2019 Acura Mdx two days ago and noticed today that there is optical distortion on front windshield. Clearly the distortions affect my visibility. The objects through distorted windshield appear bent/curved. I feel dizziness and nausea from the object distortions. I wouldn't purchase this vehicle if I knew Mdx has this type of problem for long time. Safety is my top priority since I have three children.
Windshield distortion near driver and passenger front pillars causing objects to be perceived incorrectly along with momentary disorientation when trying to determine the actual position of objects when rounding curves or bends in the road. Major concern is for objects such as, other vehicles, kids, adults, animals not being perceived properly and in time to avoid a collision.
The headlights fog over to the point of significantly diminishing effectiveness. The problem has been reported to the Acura dealer who only offers to charge excessive amounts for a non-guaranteed solution and claims this is not something they see in this car. However, it is clear from regular daily driving that significant numbers of these cars suffer from this problem. The headlights have been cleaned as recommended in the instructions without success. This is an ongoing problem from 2013 to current 2019.

Backup camera has extremely poor performance in low light or night time settings if there is no other ambient light like street lights. Reverse lights are not sufficient to be able to see obstacles or dangers in the backup monitor. Body panels produce a blind spot requiring the backup camera to see behind you. The backup camera has shifted angle slightly causing the markings intended to allow backup into parking spaces to be off center and guide the vehicle to an inappropriate parking angle. This low light performance issue has been known to owners for some time, in light of Acura's new recall related to backup cameras this warrants investigation as well.

There is a problem with the passenger front windshield. It's blurry along the edge and hard to look out especially to check for on coming traffic from the right side. It is a hazard to drive and see properly out that window.
I purchased the vehicle new, in late March 2018; I believe we took delivery on March 29, 2018. We have had an ongoing issue with the memory positioning of the steering wheel. Our vehicle has the advanced package. Intermittently, the seat will go to the memorized position, but the steering wheel will stay in the position for exiting the vehicle. That position is in the highest position the steering wheel can be placed in. We have had the vehicle at bakersfield Acura four separate times to correct the issue. Bakersfield Acura has been unable to duplicate the issue while the vehicle is at their facility. Their service writer, omar, actually witnessed the malfunction when I dropped the vehicle on July 16, 2018. I have filed a complaint with Acura client relations, case number 08936387. Acura refuses to do anything about the issue. I have explained that this is a very serious safety issue. When the steering wheel stays in the highest position, it is very difficult to see over the steering wheel, blocking our vision of the road. My wife and I just get in the vehicle, start it up and take off. Normally, it is not until we are driving that we notice the issue. At that point, we are fumbling around trying to locate the lever to manually adjust the steering wheel. At 65 mph on the freeway, that is very distracting and dangerous. A split second of distracted driving can cause a very serious accident. Tiffany at Acura client relations, and david, the service manager at bakersfield Acura have both admitted that they are aware of the problem, but contend it only happens when both driver one and driver two keys are present. Apparently, they have no intention of correcting the malfunction. To be clear, it happens when only one key is present as well as when both keys are present.
Sunroof explosion - Saturday 1/13/18 evening 7:30 pm driving on open highway (hardy toll road in north of houston) to airport to pick up my family. Clear skies, ~50f. While driving at 68mph heard a loud/deafening pop. No other cars nearby, no overpasses nearby. The glass explosion of the sunroof was spontaneous and blew up and then fell. Take a look at photo to show crest near center of glass, also the edges of the glass near body are now lower than body. Showing upward motion to glass. Sunscreen was closed and caught most of glass.

Spare tire ,as mounted in rear under vehicle, is showing excessive wear on side wall the wear marks as rubbing through the sidewall which is the weakest part on the tire and I am afraid to use it. The tire has never been used. I have checked the pressure 3 times since I purchased the vehicle new and there are three wear marks from the storage area where the tire is kept. Also when I purchased the vehicle the salesman made a big deal about the rearview mirrors automatically aiming down as the car is put in reverse. This safety feature allows the driver to see what is on the ground near the rear tires when backing up. After approximately one year the rearview mirrors no longer aimed down. The dealer now says that is vehicle never did this and I have asked about it at 3 different service appointments. Also about the spare tire wear , the dealer said "don't worry about it", after I complained about it. Ordi casement # 11194881 no accident or injury has occurred but the complaint is proactive prevention since the potential for an accident or injury is possible. . Also the rearview mirror problem has been around since 2010 based on reading Acura blogs posted by owners.
The 2018 Acura Mdx has windshield distortions affecting visibility and can lead to dizziness resulting from visual vertigo. Images seen through the outer edge of the windshield are distorted. Straight lines (road barriers, lines on the street, fences, curbs, etc) appear bent/curved. Objects also quickly magnify and then revert to normal size causing blurryiness as well as affecting the ability to determine accuracy of object placement around you when driving. The windshield is a dangerous safety hazard putting drivers at risk for accidents. After just driving it just a few miles, I began to notice dizziness and resulting nausea from object distortions. I attempted to not look out that portion of the windshield and focused looking straight were objects were clear and accurate to size/shape. But for safety reasons it is impossible to neglect a large portion of the visual field when operating motor vehicle.
While driving on Jan. 7, 2017 in snow my windshield washer was not operating. Due to sale accumulation this was a very dangerous situation. I took my car to the dealer and was told that my washer fluid froze. The temperature that day was 19 degrees. The windshield washer fluid is not supposed to freeze at that temperature. The dealer refused to take any further action other than adding a concentrate to the washer fluid. Since the fluid was original either Acura used the wrong fluid or there is an equipment problem that freezes at 19 degree temperature. This is very dangerous situation and some action by or agency is needed. .
Our Mdx has had numberous infotainment issues. The tailgate will open without being present on several occassions. Doors will not unlock on occassion on drivers side with key fob. Wipers will come on without any moisture on various times. Brake warning light will come on while driving without any traffic in front of the vehicle. Rear brakes will hang up and then release while moving slowly.

The rear back-up camera on this model of vehicle provides a very poor image at night creating a clear safety hazard. The image that appears on the screen is almost not discernible and virtually impossible to make out any images. We also own a 2010 Acura tsx that has a back up camera which works very well at night. One would think that a newer and higher end vehicle would offer at the very least a comparable quality camera. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer which has noted similar concerns from other customers but they note there is nothing they can do to fix the problem. The inferior quality of the camera and associated lighting place any driver relying on it in a dangerous position. This situation should be investigated to ensure no accidents occur as a result of the inferior back up camera.
Brand new Acura Mdx 2016 was purchased from weir canyon Acura Honda in anaheim, California on March 18th 3/18/2016. It has 40k bumper to bumper warranty per paperwork and dealer plus purchased extended 100,000 8-year warranty for any defects, etc. Again bumper to bumper. Within one week on 3/25/2016 within only 190 miles on the odometer on this brand new $60k vehicle glass windshield defect was noticed with cracking despite not seeing or hearing anything hit the windshield. It was driven on California freeway home from anaheim to north san diego county (120 miles. ) upon noticing the defect the dealer was contacted but they said anything can hit the glass and said will do nothing about it. (contacted eli sales manager and paul swim general manager of weir canyon Honda Acura) then performed a search on the internet and noticed many other Acura owners have glass breakage and cracking issues and there are blogs and entries from Acura owners on the internet's google search of Acura glass cracking breakage and it seems to be a common trend. So I proceeded to contact dealer again to discuss it some more with the dealer and explained to them this is brand new vehicle purchased with new auto warranty plus additional $3000 extended warranty from your dealership so why are you not performing customer care and care about defect in your vehicle's safety component (windshield) but they hung up the phone or used profanity when called back. Paul swim general manager even commented that even one of his own loaner dealership vehicles has a crack break on the windshield glass despite being new. Opened case with Acura headquarters in torrance CA on 3/29/16 case# 4559849 but talking to their manager (juan) and district manager they refused to be accountable and ignored complaint as well. The front windshield is basically weak fragile and unable to provide reasonable safety.
The windshield wipers would just come on and not shut off. We tried several things but the wipers would not stop. I had to take the fuse out so it cause further damage.

First use moving visor to driver- side window, visor broke loose dropping to block road view while dangling from power cord. Startled driver while blocked view caused loss of control to median while traffic avoided accident by swerving to shoulder. Passenger side visor similarly failed on first use two days later. This defect is going to kill someone if not recalled and corrected.
In November 2013 while the Mdx was parked overnight, the driver side rear window regulator failed and the window dropped down into the door. Two months later, in January 2014, the identical failure occurred on the passenger side rear window regulator and that window fell into the door. In both cases a plastic piece that anchors a cable suddenly broke in the same manner without warning. This failure does not appear to be an improbable event, given these facts. I have retained both broken parts and offered them to Acura. However, they are not interested in investigating the incident. When this failure occurs, the window cannot be rolled up. This could be a driving hazard if it occurs in windy, foggy, and/or rainy weather. Besides greatly distracting the driver, there is no way to prevent excessive moisture from entering the car. This situation may cause windows to fog or become wet on the interior of the vehicle, impairing visibility. Obviously, the security of the vehicle is compromised, as well.

On window rollup, rear window slid out of drive mechanism and fell to the base behind door panel. Glass did not shatter, and I was able to maneuver it back into position temporarily to take to dealership for replacement of drive mechanism. No weight or obstruction was put on window as it was being electrically closed. This is the third time a rear drive mechanism has failed on this vehicle. Both other replacements were handled under warranty and good faith. This unfortunately is going to be an out of pocket fix to the tune of 350 dollars. I believe that this is a flawed design and could have resulted in broken glass, an unsafe situation considering my daughter was in car seat next to window.
