Acura RDX owners have reported 6 problems related to air bag light on (under the air bag category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Acura RDX based on all problems reported for the RDX.
At times, even while driving, the passenger airbag "off light" stays on when a passenger is the front passenger seat, I have taken the Acura Rdx to the dealer 4 times and it has not been fixed. It happens regularly when my wife is the passenger, she weighs 110 pounds. In the Acura owner's guide it says the sensor detector should turn off the "airbag off" indicator when it detects someone over 65 pounds. The only way to get the "airbag off" light off is to turn the engine off and restart the car. This is a major safety issue since the passenger will not be protected when the "airbag off" is indicated. We have provided the dealer with videos of this happening.

I purchased a 2010 Acura Rdx from car zone, located at 18690 van buren blvd I riverside, CA. Before the purchase, I addressed the tire pressure air light and the unsteadiness of the vehicle. There was also a recall on the vehicle in which the dealer did not fix. I took the car to metro Acura in montclair, CA for the recall on August 5th. I drove 3 blocks and the air bag safety light came on. I took it back to metro Acura on August 9th and they stated the air bag light had nothing to do with the recall. I filed a case with Acura , #09780205 on August 12th. At this point, no one wants to accept responsibility for the air bag maintenance. This should not become my problem because the air bag recall should've been addressed by the dealer before the purchase. Acura corporate and metro are pointing the finger at each other. This is a safety issue for anyone whom rides in the passenger front seat. At this point, I just want it fix before it becomes a liability. Please advise, who should be responsible for the resolution? thanks.

Since I purchased the vehicle, the passenger airbag light does not always go out even with my wife who weighs 105 lbs is properly seated with seat belt on. Vehicle is parked. In order to clear this, I need to turn off vehicle and re-start. This happens on occasion but is not every time. Dealer has checked several times and said they calibrated the seat weight to 65 lbs. My vehicle has been in service at least 4 times for this issue and others that are intermittent. I have several photos and videos of this issue and have currently filed lemon law for this vehicle.
I was t-boned on the driver side door by a Ford taurus sedan that ran a red light at a relatively high rate of speed (I was taking a left hand turn but the car was stopped and I was yielding to oncoming traffic that was going straight). The taurus hit the back-end of a Honda crv and then hit me. The driver side door collapsed onto me and the metal from the door gouged my back. The driver side window shattered and cut me with glass. The side air bag curtain and the door airbags didn't deploy. The emergency personnel was concerned about this and looked at the issue and trying to deploy the bags, which still did not deploy. The airbags in the other cars deployed. I saved the pieces for Acura for investigate but they have declined. They will run a diagnostic check for me once the car is fully repaired. Acura has confirmed that there were no recalls and there were no indicator lights on in the car to indicate an issue. I have my car serviced at acrura and have not been informed of any airbag repairs.
