1 Cruise Control problem of the 2006 Acura RL

Failure Date: 01/01/2006

The contact owns a 2006 Acura Rl. The contact stated that the vehicle comes equipped with two different cruise control modes: standard and radar (acc). While driving 70 mph in the acc mode, the vehicle accelerates when he removes his foot from the accelerator pedal. When the pedal is depressed, the vehicles decelerates. This has been an ongoing failure since the vehicle was purchased in January of 2006. One year and three months later, Acura finally sent someone to test drive the vehicle and videotape the failure. Acura acknowledges the failure, but does not know how to remedy the failure. The dealer offered him a new vehicle without the cruise control feature, however the contact feels that is unacceptable. The dealer also tested the 2007 Rl and found that the vehicle has the same defect. Presently, Acura has failed to offer any further assistance. The current mileage is 11,700 and failure mileage was 250. Updated 06/14/07.
