Vehicle Speed Control Problems of Acura RL

Oil shot out the car while driving at high speed on the freeway, causing all the oil to shoot out, and the entire function of the car to stop working. The engine essentially died, causing the brake, the gas, and steering to lock and not work. Car went from 65 miles a hr to 5 milesw, very scary summary on certain passenger vehicles, prolonged high under-hood temperatures may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate prematurely causing the hose to crack and leak power steering fluid. Consequence power steering fluid leaking onto a hot catalytic converter will generate smoke and possibly lead to an under-hood fire.

On several occasions, multiple warning signals at once came on while driving on average roads, acc, cmbs, check transmission, check air bags and others. The green d that shows the gear setting began constantly blinking. When I stopped and shut off the engine and started again, all the warning signal did not reappear. Within a period of about 3 weeks, this happened about 7 times. The car ran normally despite all these warnings.

Tl- the contact owns a 2000 Acura Rl. The contact stated that a bold prematurely fractured internally associated with the transmission and the gear train differential failed. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, there was a drastic reduction in speed and the accelerator pedal did not respond. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop who diagnosed that the gear train differential needed to be replaced. The contact was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 99v227000 (power train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they provided no remedy. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 159,000. Dyd.

Was driving at highway speed; suddenly noticed very slow car ahead; upon braking, car accelerated instead; to avoid head on collision to left, or rear end collision ahead, took to shoulder to attempt to slow car down; eventually got car under control again; have reached no definite conclusions yet as to cause, but have contacted dealer for help, as still within warranty.

The caller was pulling out of a parking spot when she suddenly lost control of the vehicle. It accelerated on its own , and she tried the brake and it did not work. She said the steering wheel did not work, she tried to turn the wheel and nothing happened. The vehicle hit a parked car. The police came and a report was taken. No one was hurt. Dealer has not been contacted yet. The manufacturer said a case worker will call her this week. They called her back and said the case was closed, and insurance company would have to handle it. The vehicle was leased.
