When performing a routine oil level check, the hood on my Acura Tl 2009 unexpectedly dropped suddenly. The hood struts have subsequently been replaced by the dealer (to prevent reoccurrence).

On 08/24/2014, few minutes after leaving my house, while making a left turn at a local intersection w/ speed < 10 mph, suddenly I heard this loud metallic noise, n I felt my car had dropped a bit. My car stopped right in the middle of street, n could't move at all. Lower ball joint had severed. Passenger front wheel is tilted outward at a 60 degree angle. Right front axal got pulled out of transmission. Car body damaged because all the unsupported weight placed on tilted wheel. There're witnesses, and my mom is w/ me at the time of incident. Had aaa towed it to the shop and since it was closed on Sunday, I had to wait till Monday to call them for quotes. I was gonna have my insurance taking care of it, but figured this has nothing to do with me, I didn't do anything wrong, n the car never had any major accidents. I did almost all a1b1 services at Acura dealer and mostly thomas Acura located in covina. I was there for service on July 16th, 2014, n the report they gave me never mentioned anything about ball joint. I called thomas Acura on Monday, 08/25/2014 regarding the incident, the guy name josh wanted me to bring in the car so they can inspect it so they can determined who's at fault, but at the same time hinting me there's must be some sorts of impact causing this. I told him there's nothing on the street, and no other party/car has hit my vehicle. I had my car towed from the shop to the dealer n let them inspect it. I also sent Acura north America an email and stated the incident. The guy name lue from thomas Acura called me back on 08/26/14, n told me that there's an impact, n I better have insurance info ready. I am pretty sure Acura n America is gonna take their side. There must be some sorts of defects but seems like there is nothing I can do. My family could be dead if this happened on a highway. Someone needs to do something about this.

I have a 2005 Acuratl in good condition. Last year, a long crack appeared on my passenger side dashboard. A week later a second long crack appeared parallel to the first crack. Lastly, about a month ago a third crack appeared making a horizontal line between the first and second crack. It is very noticeable. A security guard once asked me, what model was my car. He replied, that it is a defect with the 2005 Acura Tl's. His and his friend's car did the same thing, he said. I began to research online. I found many forums and blogs of people complaining of this same issue. I contacted Acura and of course they claim no liability because of the car's age or mileage. I have read that this a safety issue with the passenger side airbag.

2000 Acura Tl seems to have a design flaw that causes sub-frame corrosion. The probable cause is the a/c drain hose draining on top of the front passenger side of the sub-frame. The symptom was a 'clunk' (metal on metal type noise) when making a right-turn. I took the car to a local garage and they showed me that the passenger-side sub-frame has fallen apart due to the corrosion. I contacted Acura customer care and referred to other complaints and a 2012 abc news report on this issue requesting a recall. But, they did not recognize this as a defect and failed to provide any assistance with resolving the problem since the vehicle was no longer covered under the manufacturer warranty. Given the serious nature of this defect, it would seem appropriate that a recall or safety warning be issued to all owners of Honda vehicles impacted by this design issue.

Takata recall I was in a car accident in June of 2014. I was pulling away from a stop sign. As I was driving a suburban (believe) turned in front of me. Tried to get out of the way but didn't quite make it. I hit the side or back of his vehicle . I felt like I hit a brick wall with my face. That was my face hitting the air bag. I was on the service road leaving the mall. I don't think the date I wrote in on this form is correct. I'm not sure of the day.

My daughter died in a accident on November 7, 2013 in the Acura Tl 2003. She had been telling me that it felt like the agnition was sticking and would speed up. I would check with my local mechanic and he told me Acuras are known to idle high. I beleive that her car problem was the cause of the accident and the police could not give me a reason for the accident. She was 19 and a senior in high school and was a good child.
Not sure if this is takata issue as well! or due to defective dashboard materials which have cracked severely bad! when it started they were lines hardly noticeable! now due to neglegance of the company the primary cracks are over the airbag area & have crevices across top and they are across entire dashboard? the light for airbags comes on and off at random times? the seat belt beeping indicator is not working all the time anymore! my car even though it is a 2004 is in very good shape from what other people have told me! that is of course until they see the craters in the dash of what is suppose to be a higher end nice model car that should hold up better than???? this is not to mention the fact of safety? is there a possibility the airbags have dried out or became effected due to these large cracks as well as what other damage it could be causing electronically? am I going to end up in some horrific car accident due to airbag release when just driving down the interstate and then it all be my fault for sweving over in another lane and cause the accident! then it will look as if I were at fault and airbags deployed as they should have done, instead opened prematurely due to defective parts? of course this is a hypothetical situation but I would think totally plausible!!! and all due to not having recalled what everyone already knows that dashboard material on this model and others that were recalled and repaired by dealers same year models 2004-2008 for the same identical reasons! that seems like a roll of the die at consumers expense! not to mention a liability to all consumers that happen to be driving these vehicles!.

Paint have started get ugly and scratching by its self and is look really ugly when look closed a the body of the car and I don't know what can I do because is getting more ugly day by day is look like a glitter with primer paint.
Multiple cracks large and small suddenly appeared in the dashboard. The affected parts section would not allow me to enter dashboard as the issue, therefore I put body.
The dash on my 2005 Acura Tl started cracking very severely-I currently have 4 sizeable cracks. I have never seen this on a car prior in my 25 years of owning them. I fear for my safety as I wonder how these cracks impact my air bags.

I was applying the brake due to stopped traffic ahead of my car. As I did so, the car accelerated rather than slowed down. My car contacted the left rear of the car in front of mine, and as I tried to straighten out the car, it again accelerated. Veered to the right, and struck the stone wall of the bridge on the shoulder of the highway. According to the police report, there was a malfunction with the throttle mechanism. "officers witnessed, when starting the vehicle, the rpm indicator quickly rise to approximately 5,000/5,500 without any pressure applied on the gas pedal. The floor area did not exhibit items, including the floor mat, which would potentially be the cause. ".
While driving we heard a loud pop that sounded like a very large rock hit the windshield. While inspecting the windshield we noticed that the noise had come from the dashboard splitting. The area covering the passenger side airbag has split and the entire dash, withing just a few days, has split from the initial 4 inch split to about 8 inches. I am concerned that this could affect airbag deployment as the decreased resistance could mean the airbag deployment speed is greater. (worth noting: we purchased this car new and it has been garage kept its entire life. Also, when the car is in the sun I always use a sunshield. ).
Dash separating around passenger side airbag.
I just bought the Acura Tl 2009 at 4/23/2013 and with a month driving the car the paint begin cracking ,fading and peeling in the all body part of the car and I look ugly when you look the car from any view no matter if raining or sunny you still see the cracking in the car and getting ugly day by day and the dealer don't want to deal with this matter what I can do with this problem??.
The dashboard in my 2004 Acura Tl is cracked on the passenger side along the airbag. Started out just a crack about 1/4" and two days later the crack is over 8 inches. Also the dashboard on the driver's side cracked first from just in front of the steering column all the way to the windshield and is now a complete square from steering column to windshield and back to steering column. If this isn't a safety issue, I don't know what is! we own two other hondas, 2001 and 2000 civics, and neither of those cars have cracks and are in better shape than the Acura Tl.
The contact owns a 2006 Acura Tl. The contact stated that the dashboard exhibited numerous fractures near the passenger's side air bag. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 104,000.
There is a water leak under the right rear passenger seat that has caused the bottom of the seat cushion to be covered in mold. The water leak is a known condition with the '04 Tl that Acura has documented in their April 2005 service news. Acura has been aware of the issue for at least 7 years and has done nothing proactive to correct it even though it's a simple fix. I'm confident that the long term exposure to the mold has caused me the sinus and lung/asthma problems that have been plaguing me for the last few years and that began shortly after I purchased the car and never connected to the car even though I have undergone a variety of testing from different doctors.
The contact owns a 2004 Acura Tl. The contact stated that a crack was present on the passenger side portion of the dashboard. The contact also stated that the crack was getting worse with time. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 102,000 and the current mileage was 103,500.
Anytime I go over 40mph, there is some kind of whistle noise that is coming from right side. When I'm driving, it seems like its coming from front passenger side. When front passenger is seating there, they tell me that it's coming from back side. This issue is not continues; when it happens, it's there and I have to raise radio volume in order to over come this whistle noise. When I drop my car speed below 40mph, this noise goes away. I have taken to dealer, but they cannot duplicate this issue. I have called Acura number, but regional manager tells me that he cannot do anything.

The contact owns a 2004 Acura Tl. The contact stated that a crack had developed across the dashboard. The technician stated that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 98,000 and the current mileage was 123,000.
During the month of December 2012, I noticed that my dashboard on the above the passenger side airbag started to split. The car was not in any accident, and I am the only individual who operates the vehicle. As of this date, one split have turned into two large splits on the passenger side that measure at about a foot each. Additionally, I have noticed a smaller split in the dashboard now above the driver side. I took my vehicle to an Acura dealer on 11/10/2012 (Acura of manhattan) for routine maintenance and to also inquire about what Acura is doing to fix the issue and replace my dashboard at no cost to me due to the design defect in their product. I do not want to wait until the airbag deploys and does physical damage to my passenger or myself because Acura was negligent in their duty to ensure that they manufactured a part that would not fail and cause injury to passengers of their vehicles. This dashboard needs to be recalled as soon as possible.
The contact owns a 2004 Acura Tl. The contact stated that a large fracture, the size of an airbag, was present on the dashboard on the passenger’s side. In addition, there was a long fracture up the middle of the dashboard on the driver’s side. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they informed the contact that the dashboard and airbag may possibly need to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 99,500.
I recently discovered a huge gash on my 04 Acura Tl's dashboard. I am worried that this crack will cause an airbag failure or even result in deploying prematurely. It is located all the way from the steering wheel to the windshield with an additional crack towards the middle. As the crack has expanded within the past week, I have found that just above the center console, the airbag has been pushed to the side, causing the airbag to bubble up in the center. I called Acura and was told that they give discounts on the product because it should never happen and because it wasn't my fault, just a faulty product that has been discovered in several other states. I talked to the district manager of gunn Acura in sa,TX about the issue and was told that since I haven't used Acura's service department as much as they like (pretty much saying that I haven't given them enough money), they would give me only a 15% discount when I was told to expect around 75%. My car is out of warranty but I don't see how that would matter if it was bound to happen anyway. I don't understand why this defect isn't a recall. The district manager told me that if anything, the airbag would come out faster if needed since there is already a crack to open it up. But that might not be a good thing, especially when it is pushed out of the way and how the airbag doesn't come out of the dashboard. When I spoke to the district manager, the first thing I was told was that the offer is staying the same, no matter what. He checked his notes and decided a price before even consulting me or asking questions. He was set on a rate before he even spoke with me. The price hasn't changed and I am expected to pay for a $2000 dashboard with a 15% discount. My main concern is that the airbag will deploy any day now for no reason. It is getting to the point where I am actually scared to drive my car because of this issue.
12-15" cracks have developed over the entire dashboard causing the air bag malfunction light on the dash to illuminate--thereby indicating a problem with the air bag. This is clearly due to the problematic cracks over the entire surface of the dashboard, including both the driver side and passenger side. Going over a pot hole or severe bump could cause the air bag to inflate and possibly cause an accident or injury to the front passenger. The 2004 Acura dashboard obviously is defective and should be replaced by Acura and further, investigated for potential accidental discharge of the passenger air bag.
The contact owns a 2005 Acura Tl. While parked the contact noticed a large fracture on the dashboard which started near the windshield and went through the air bag compartment, down to the glove compartment. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic. The technician stated that the dashboard would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
