When I drive the shift is usually is really slow and it also makes a clunk sound then sometimes I put it on d4 buit it some how goes to reverse and I have to go back to park and try to put it back on drive as I'm driving on the highway it does jerk around but as I'm slowing down to exit it starts to "break" and jerk around I was able to make it home and ever since not move the car.

There is no injury. I have a 2007 Acura Tl type s with a 6 speed manual. The clutch began to slip and not operate like it did before. I have driven stick shift for 5 years. This is not my first manual car but my 7th manual car. I know how to drive manual. The clutch gave out at around 28,000. Acura of riverside has looked at it and said the clutch is no good and needs to be replaced. He also said a few weeks ago another Acura Tl type s has replaced the clutch. The service tech has quoted me over $2,000 to get the car working. I believe that Acura has a problem with the manual transmission as they did with the automatic transmission in the pass. My other cars lasted between 120k to 150k with the factory clutch. I have research online and other problem are having this problem. It is only fair that they fix this issue as a defective instead of making the consumer pay for their problems. They refused to fix it and consider it my fault. I believe it is a on going problem and I am not the only one with this problem.

The automobile has a manual transmission with an intermittent shifting problem. Shifting into 3rd gear can result in partial engagement and "pop out" of the shift resulting in loss of power and deceleration. When this occurs on acceleration in traffic, a near accident has occurred as the car has slowed down in merging traffic. The automobile manufacturer has a service bulletin (08-018) that requires the dealer/service provider to "drive a known-good vehicle" and compare with the client's vehicle, and replace transmission parts if noticeable shift quality differences. Repeated efforts to get the dealer to acknowledge the defect (faulty synchronizer) have resulted in "no problem found".
6 speed manual transmission is synchronized poorly making it difficult to shift into 3rd & 4th gear smoothly and sometimes will pop out of gear when you think you have shifted sufficiently.
1. Manual transmission frequently "pops" out of 3rd gear when shifting resulting in car going back into neutral and subsequent drop in speed. 2. Incident leads to high risk of rear end collision in traffic, possible loss of control, driver attention diverted to re-shifting. 3. Dealer advised manufacturer previously aware of the problem, does not have a solution and does not know if/when a solution will be available. No repairs made or available.
The contact owns a 2007 Acura Tl. While driving between 30-40 mph, the contact placed the gear shifter into third gear. When the clutch was released, the transmission immediately shifted into neutral without assistance. The failure occurred at any speed and without warning. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection and they flushed the transmission. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer on twelve separate occasions for identical failures, but there were no resolutions. The transmission was rebuilt twice. The failure mileage was unavailable and the current mileage was 14,000. Updated 07/28/09. Updated 07/30/09.
6 speed manual transmission is synchronized poorly making it difficult to shift into 3rd gear smoothly and sometimes will pop out of 3rd when you think you have clutched sufficiently. Dealer claims there isn't a problem and will not fix the issue.
6 speed manual transmission is synchronized poorly making it difficult to shift into 3rd gear smoothly and sometimes will pop out of 3rd when you think you have clutched sufficiently. Nj dealer said Acura has complaints about this and may change transmission in future years but will not do anything for existing vehicles.
The vehicle showed a up/down shifting into 3rd gear problem. It would slip when trying to shift up. When shifting down to 3rd you would hear a clunk and the vehicle would start to search for a gear. Nlm.
