My wife, [xxx] , purchased a 2005 Acura Tl on [xxx]. The car was not inspected, it had a hole in the oil tank, was leaking battery acid, had broken control arms, wore out rotors, wore out brake pads, bald tires, vehicle stability control disabled, no ac, cracked dashboard where the passenger air bag is located, and the alignment was so bad that the car would try to pull very hard off of the road. Toxic hot fumes entered the cockpit during my wife's drive home from the car dealership. The fumes made her feel sick and gave her a horrible headache because of the leaking battery acid and perhaps the hole in the oil tank. It's a health and safety issue that needs to be taken seriously. The used car dealership (premium auto outlet inc. ) is selling vehicles to customers and are not providing them with the title. My wife paid in full, yet she had to fight to receive the title. The employees scream at there customers, including my wife and also tell them to leave the property when asking for the title and when confronted about vehicle mechanical issues. The female employee even screamed over the phone at our mechanic (delran auto repair) who tried to tell the employee that the car was not is sellable condition due to the safety and mechanical problems. Please review the google reviews and facebook reviews for more horrible customer experiences when it comes vehicles being sold in horribly unsafe mechanical condition, withholding titles, unlawfully repossessing, screaming at customers and ignoring customer complaints. The best resolution for my wife and I would be for the dealership to pay for all of the repair bills that accrued (roughly $4k) due to the car being sold in unsafe condition and most importantly the prevention of any health and safety issues due to the selling of unsafe mechanically condition vehicles to future customers. Please investigate this issue for the health and safety of people. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2004 Acura Tl. The contact stated while driving at 60 mph with her mother in the front passenger’s side seat, her mother informed her that the vehicle was bouncing. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the front lower control arms, shocks, and bushings were replaced; however, the contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver's side of the vehicle dropped significantly and the vehicle stopped. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 11e022000 (suspension). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
I purchased this used car and while driving the vsa (vehicle stability assis) light comes on with the accompanying trianlge with exclamation point. When the light comes on while driving the car will tug you to the right. Once you stop the vehicle and turn off and re-start the light will turn off. As you drive again, the light comes on and tugs the vehicle to the right. When we purchased the vehicle I drove it home with my 16 year old (it is planned to be his first car) and I was on the highway going 60 and the vsa light came on and tugged the vehicle to the right. I did not lose control but it can definitely catch someone off guard and cause them to over correct. I took the car in to a local auto shop and they said there was a fault on the vsa module and a couple of other issues. I spent $1,300 to replace both front bearings, hubs, 1 speed control sensor because they recommended that be done before looking to replace the vsa modulating assembly ($1,800 + install). . I was told by a mechanic that this 2006 Acura Tl I bought from joe's garage here in clovis CA was a car I do not want to be driving. Now when purchased from joe's garage he stated he put engine didn't say new or used, he also said the car was practically brand new because previous owner was a high school kid who assume he cracked his radiator and was not the problem, but the kid bought a new car and left Acura there since. Since the purchased I had nothing, but engine problems told joe never responded I did my own research come to find out joe's business licensed was suspended and that where he got my car Acura to pass smog of course was a smog business already being investigated for passing car illegally. So I took my Acura to Acura dealer here in fresno CA I was told all motor mounts were cracked so they replaced all motor mounts and installed used motor charging me $7,000 at that time I was in the process of suing joe's garage however since I have had no car emotionally distress because I paid $2700 for Acura trusting this business man come to find out its salvaged vehicle now you can understand how frustrated I am not including the losses in my life back to back not been able to just mourn rest etc because of cruel business companies intentions. I'm not asking for much all I want is for you to give Acura dealer here in fresno CA the ok to make sure my car is or passed the safety and drivable test making sure everything on car is safe to drive at no cost to me. I have grandkids who are my world and I need to have a good reliable car for them nathan here at Acura dealer called me yesterday asking me if I had money, I said no I will file my taxes and see but I honestly feel and would appreciate your help on closing the two companies for good and release my car to me at no cost.

After having my car in the shop for 2 weeks trying to figure out why the power steering won't stop freaking exploding when there is nothing wrong with any of the parts except the hoses going bad. I once again was left in the middle of a busy street with no power steering trying to muscle my way back to the shop. This is ridiculousssssss. Why are they not telling us their cars have issues!!!!!.
Rear subframe rusted.

I have some suspension related issues that have recently been diagnosed that are included in the NHTSA campaign # 11e022000 but when I type in my VIN# on your website it says there are no recalls for this item on my 2008 Acura Tl. I have another diagnosed issue with the steering from your recall # 08v091000 and there is no listing for this recall on my vehicle on your website. I was told that I was losing power steering fluid due to intense heat and that the power steering hose is deteriorating. This is very dangerous for me to drive my vehicle, yet see the recall is for certain 2008 models. Who can help me with this? another diagnosed issue is the powertrain recall # 04v176000 that is also not listed for my vehicle. I am having problems with the gears and am worried about the safety of this vehicle. I have problems with the 2nd gear. I will be notifying Honda, on all these issues, but the public needs to be aware on the determination of "certain 2008" models.

Frame and undercarriage of this auto condemned by service dept. Due to premature rusting of frame. Auto always garaged. Frame rust appeared at 40,000 miles.
Motor frames or engine cradle on the passenger side is badly rusted, and it about to fall apart. I have been looking for replacement part, and everyone of them that that I have found has the same problem. I found out the problem when I was trying to replace the front rotors back in June of this year 2018 and I have not been driving it because I also need to replace the drive axle and I couldn't find the engine cradle for replacement, I couldn't do anything with it.
The frame that supports the engine is rusting out!. . . . It only sounded like a squeak. . . But the issue is way bigger than anticipated. . . It only makes a sound when backing up or turning. . . . Other parts related to the frame are also affected.
Auto has only 49,072 miles on it and the frame beam has serious rust showing.

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Acura Tl. The contact stated that while driving about 10 mph,, attempting to make a turn,, a loud boom sound was heard from the front-end of the vehicle and caused "the wheels to move up and down". There was no warning. The failure recurred three times. The dealer was not called. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall,. And that nothing could be done. . The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who repaired the failure. The contact did not elaborate on the diagnosis or how the failure was repaired. The contact simply stated that the vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was not provided. Fe.
Rust through condition on right sub-frame supporting engine, transmission, right front suspension. Air conditioning condenser drain tube drips condensation/water directly onto this area of the sub-frame causing severe corrosion and eventually part failure leaving engine, transmission, right front suspension without proper alignment and support that can happen at any speed. Acura denounced any knowledge of this problem. Left side of same part is not effected at all. Internet search has discovered numerous instances of this problem. TSB has been issued for 1999-2002 Honda accord cars with this same problem. But manufacture's solution was to move the location of the drain tube in future model years of the car. I paid an independent repair shop $2,600 to replace the rear sub-frame section. The dealership wanted to replace both front and rear sub-frames but the front section was not effected and did not require replacement. The repair shot I took my car to to have the work done praised the car for being spotless underneath except for the effected area. Problem was discovered on August 16, 2016.
The contact owned a 2003 Acura Tl. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the vehicle encountered a pot hole causing the vehicle to jerk violently. As a result, the vehicle veered off the road and flipped over. The air bags did not deploy. The contact's left shoulder strap seat belt was detached from the vehicle leaving behind only the waist strap seat belt as the contact shifted from the driver's seat to the passengers seat during the accident. Furthermore, the contact's head was partially hanging out of the window after the accident. The vehicle was destroyed. The contact sustained a fractured wrist, chest pains, multiple lacerations and a concussion. In addition, the contact's stomach was severely twisted out of shape and the contact vomited and fainted numerous occasions after the accident. The contact required medical attention. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 123,000. The VIN was not available.
Tl-the contact owns a 2003 Acura Tl. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at an independent mechanic for a routine oil change. The technician notice that the vehicle sub frame as corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 180,000. Aw.
My Acura went in for the air-bag recall, and the service technician notice the rear beam of the front sub-frame was rotted (had a hole in it). He said it would cost me around $2480. To replace it. I did some research and found that Honda motor had put it ac drainpipe to directs water on it causing it to rust. Honda motor need to step-up to the plate and have a recall on this part. I also has a complaint on my 2002 Honda accord. Honda new about this problem for some time, the ac drainpipe dripped water on the 1999 - 2002 model.

The sub frame assy is rusted through on the passenger side this subframe supports the engine and trans axle assy. This is a defect the subframes are rusting on Honda and Acura cars. . . Same as hyundas did and those were all recalled. This is the same defect and needs a national recall for repairs ASAP before somebody gets killed.

The passenger side front sub-frame failed. The metal had fatigue in the area where the compliance bushing is mounted. If this part failed completely, there would have been a loss of steering and control. Part failure was discovered at Honda dealership when the vehicle was being serviced for a replacement timing belt.
2000 Acura Tl seems to have a design flaw that causes sub-frame corrosion. The probable cause is the a/c drain hose draining on top of the front passenger side of the sub-frame. The symptom was a 'clunk' (metal on metal type noise) when making a right-turn. I took the car to a local garage and they showed me that the passenger-side sub-frame has fallen apart due to the corrosion. I contacted Acura customer care and referred to other complaints and a 2012 abc news report on this issue requesting a recall. But, they did not recognize this as a defect and failed to provide any assistance with resolving the problem since the vehicle was no longer covered under the manufacturer warranty. Given the serious nature of this defect, it would seem appropriate that a recall or safety warning be issued to all owners of Honda vehicles impacted by this design issue.

I have encountered an unsafe condition on my 2003 Acura Tl (made by Honda). This condition was shown to me by mechanic who indicated that the vehicle is unsafe to drive due the front passenger cross frame member is completely rusted through (photos are available upon request). The condition was found after 96,746 miles during a repair after a routine oil check. The apparent cause is the hose line connected to the air conditioning unit is positioned in such a way that it leaks onto the sub-frame, causing it to rust out. The cost for the frame repair was $ 2,052. 970, but what is more disturbing is that I was driving this car with my grandchildren and family under the risk of an accident without my knowledge of the condition. Also, disturbing is to know there may be other cars with the same issue being driven today.
The front right side of the sub frame has excessive corrossion (rot) and needed to be replaced. I am the original owner and the car has been entirely dealer maintained and thoroughly inspected frequently. I discovered the corrosion while changing the front right tire. Dealer informed me the car was unsafe to drive as the front right tire would eventually collapse or fall off. The problem was reported to Acura and Acura would not provide assistance due to the age of the vehicle. The car was repaired and I am in possession of the rotted sub-frame. Other than the rotted sub-frame, the car does not exhibit any rust or corrosion.
Purchased car on 01/21/2013. Was back at dealer on 01/26/2012 due to a weird vibration at high speeds (50-80 mph). Long story short they have balanced the tires like 3 times and put new tires but it is still vibrating not as much but still. Going back to dealer to see what they have to say this time.

Since the day of the car purchased in 2006 the steering was very harder than other cars we used before and consulted with the dealer. I was told that Acura Tl is a sports car and the steering will be harder than other manufactures. This problem continued and a recall from the manufacture replaced power steering hose which was defective. I contacted dealer multiple times and was told that the nothing to worry; it is normal for this model. When the situation got really bad, I took it back to the dealer when the mileage was around 120000 miles, I was told that the power steering rack is leaking oil out the end seals and the proper correction is replacement of power steering rack and a possible damage to the pump due to low fluid level. The estimated cost was $1650. 00. I had a very hard time for driving this car for many years and come up with $1700. 00 to fix it. Also the bushing were torn and popped through. According to service technician torn bushing was a design issue for 2004-2008 models and Acura changed the body style later to correct the problem. In order to fix this wobbling/shaking problem the estimated cost is $681. 00. (due to defecitive body style). According the dealers and technicians I contacted, I was told that these problems are vey seldom and they are due to manufacturing problems. As a customer I have to come up with around $2500. 00 to fix a defective luxury car cost me more than $35000. 00 in 2006. What a shame.
I purchased vehicle August 2, 2008. I have been having problems with the vehicle since the purchase. The vehicle hums and shakes while driving and a vibration can be felt.
- the contact stated that when the 2004 Acura Tl, was at the dealership on 01/18/07 for regular maintenance she was informed by the service mechanic that the 2 rear tiresprematurely wear wore out. The contact stated that NHTSA has a service bulletin #05076. The contact stated that the mechanic informed her that it was best to purchase 4 new tires instead of replacing the 2 back tires. The contact stated that these tires came with the vehicle with dot# 0b6ntu22404 and size p235/45r17 radial. The contact felt that this was manufacturing issue and the manufacturer should recall these tires. The dealership informed her that she has to pay 75% of tire replacement as per the dealership tire chart, Honda will pay remaining 25%. The contact stated that this is a public safety issue and the tires could explode anytime and it is not the fault of the owner. Updated 03/30/07.
2006 Acura Tl a vibration occurs primarily between the speeds of 48-58 mph. The vibration is felt in the floor, seat, and steering wheel. It is most noticeable when the car is cold (after about 3-4 hours after running). It seems to go away after the car warms up. It does not appear to be tire related. I have talked to a number of Tl owners and they have the same problem. Acura states it is a characteristic of the car and is within specifications. However, Acura has not provided what the specifications are, how they are measured, and what my measurements are. The dealer sales manager stated to me that "yeah, Acura has a problem there". I did not notice it right away after I bought the car thinking I was on a bad road or the tire was out of balance. It is not at all speeds and not at all times. It is an irritating vibration. I asked the dealer to fix it or buy the car back but they have done nothing to correct the problem stating it is characteristic of the car.
At around 8,000 miles, I hit a curb hard enough to bend the wheel of my 2006 Acura. The dealership replaced the wheel and sent me on my way. 3 months and 3,000 miles later, the wheel came off the axel. Fortunately I was going around 5 miles per hour headed to a stop sign when it happened, otherwise, it could have been a fatal incident. The bolt that caused the problem was completely severed. There are marks across it that show the wear on the bolt over the 3,000 miles. The dealer indicated that hitting the curb has caused the bolt to be damaged and that they had seen it in one other Acura that had a similar situation. I have a serious concern that either there is a design problem or the metal used to make the bolt is substandard. Had I been on the interstate, the result would have been very different.
2003 Acura Tl type-s experiencing excessive wear on only the driver's side front tire. Car was taken to an Acura dealer for service. Upon inspection of the vehicle, the Acura mechanic indicated that the problem has been seen previously on several other vehicles of the same make/model and that the problem was related to the traction control system (vsa) allowing slippage of the front driver's side tire during right turns. Acura stated that there was no resolution available and the only recourse was to rotate the tires on a more frequent basis. Tire dealer was asked if there were any known issues with the tire itself (michelin) and indicated that there were no service notifications issues from the manufacturer. The wear on this tire is heavily accelerated and was only noticed on a routine examination of the vehicle. Based on the statements by the Acura mechanic, I believe there to be a problem with the traction control system that allows the front driver's side tire to slip, thereby causing the excessive wear. Given winter driving conditions, this slippage was increased due to the loss of road traction. If unnoticed, the tire would have failed (with less than 28000 miles) potentially causing significant damage to the vehicle. The worn tire is available for inspection and pictures of the tire in comparison to the passenger side front tire are available upon request.
Vehicle has a vibration between 52-64 mph. Feels like you are driving over rumble strips. The dealer and factory have attempted to repair 4 times and over 19 day in shop and still the vibration is present. My fear is the vehicle transmission, drive train, steering or brakes could fail at any moment due to part fatigue. There seems to be no repair in plan to resolve this problem can you please help.
While driving driver noticed that the vehicle shook uncontrollably. Driver was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer, and mechanic determined that all four tires needed to be balanced, and a wheel aligned. Driver informed the mechanic that this problem still occurred, and had not been resolved. Afterwards the mechanic told the driver that this vehicle operated as designed, and had a design flaw problem from the manufacturer.
While driving between 52 - 58 mph steering column shakes violently.
